What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
D and I got to Vegas on Thursday afternoon. We went to Rum Jungle in Mandalay Bay and ate dinner, wandered around and then went to see Blue Man at the Luxor. They were great. After Blue Man, Deviate called me to let me know she was in Vegas, but the airlines had lost her luggage.
She was staying in our room that night and so she put what she had in there, freshened up and we went out to the strip. Most of the monkeys stayed at the Sahara which is at the top of the strip. We started walking down the strip. We stopped at Circus Circus first. The place is set up for families. Personally I feel the Vegas strip is no place for kids, but Circus Circus feels it's okay. They have the second floor above the casino set up with carney games where you can win stuffed animals. Kids are everywhere. They must be really easy to win because parents were carrying around bags of them. Deviate was starving so we stopped by McDonalds and got her something. D picked up a Happy Meal and seemed surprised to find a prize inside. It was a little stuffed animal and he wanted to give it to a kid there. He gave it to me because parents might think a 6'4" guy trying to give a child a toy for free would be a little suspicious. In trying to find a kid I said, maybe a little too loud, that it was really hard to find a kid. At that a mother whipped her head around and eyed me suspiciously. Maybe D would have had better luck after all. We finally found a kid that didn't have a bunch of toys and asked her parent and got rid of the toy. Sheesh. It's so hard to be nice these days. We walked next door to Slots A Fun, Westward Ho and almost to the Frontier. By that time it was about 3am and we where all tired, tried, tired. We walked back to the Sahara and checked to see if Deviate's bag had arrived. The airlines had called and told her it would be delivered between midnight and 2am and it was past 3am. No bag. We asked the bell desk to call the room when it got there. The next morning she called the front desk and her bag had been delivered, they just didn't call us. We went to the Sahara's mediocre breakfast buffet. I took an apple for later and we left. D wanted some new shoes so we went to the Fashion Show Mall and killed a few hours there. By about 3pm we met Beale. Around 5pm, Spicy, Lapietra and Willow drove in. We all helped them carry their many loads of stuff to their room. Lala had made homemade Baileys. That stuff was incredible. (I want the recipe!) Spicy brought her good friend Jagermeister. It was a party for sure. A little later Klynne called and got herself over to the room. We were so loud I thought for sure there would be complaints. The rooms at the Sahara must be really sound proofed, because I know I was loud and I never heard any complaints from any of my neighbors. Eventually we took our loud selves and road the trolley to Madalay Bay. I think that was our original destination, I can't be sure anymore. The trolley ride was sloooooow! But we made up for that by singing show tunes and generally annoying all the other passengers. It was great! We got off at the Mirage because the buzz obtained in the hotel room was disappearing fast and more alcohol was needed quickly. We walked over to Ti (Treasure Island) in search of drinks. In the search we came across Canter's Deli. We all ordered something and ate. It took entirely too long to get Willow's and Spicy's pretzels. I mean, I got my hamburger before they got their pretzels and they warned me that the burger would take ten minutes. Because Klynne was staying at Ti, we all got a closer look at the Sirens of Ti. A lame, lame show. The women were pretty and stacked and the men were handsome and buff. Other than that, it sucked. It seemed there was a call for cheap drinks and so we all started walikng back up the strip to the cheaper places. About halfway the group decided to go get some liquor and head back to the hotel. D and I walked with Klynne back to Ti and then we went on to Mandalay Bay. D had placed a bet in the Sports Book and won so we went back to collect. After putzing around there we went back to the Sahara. Deviate was already in the room on the bed. (I couldn't see how 5 people would be able to fit in a room with two double beds so D and I offered our room to Deviate again.) We all woke up early again. We (Deviate, D and I) called the other room and they (Willow, Lala, beale and Spicy) needed more sleep. We hit the crappy buffet again and by the time we were done the others were starting to stir. We went to the Sahara's casino and played some video poker while we waiting for everyone else. When everyone had showered and was ready they still needed to eat some breakfast so they were off to Denny's. We left the Sahara and started walking down the strip. we stopped off at Slots A Fun. This place is a dive, but it has $1 Craps and $1 Blackjack. We all sat down and played some BlackJack. After breaking even, I got up from the table and D came with me leaving poor Deviate all by herself. She did just fine though. She got smashed on cranberry juice and Jack for and played for at least an hour for $15! Everybody else (Beale, Spicy, Willow and Lala) had finished their breakfast and were at the MGM Grand. We left Slots A Fun and hopped on the bus. It was an interesting bus ride. Deviate had walked away from SAF with a small broom. I'm not sure why or how, but she had it and took a little nap on the bus with it. By the time we got down to the end of the strip, everybody else was at the Luxor. We got off the bus and walked in. We ditched the broom and tried to hook up with everyone else. That was a comedy of errors. Deviate, D and I went to the sports book to sit down. I went to go find everyone else. I found them and went to go get Deviate and D, but Deviate had wandered off in search of a bathroom and had gotten lost. D stayed at the sports book in case Deviate made her way back and I went off looking for her. Somehow she ended up outside the casino. D and I went to where I last left everyone else and they weren't there anymore. The biggest problem for me was my phone didn't get any reception inside the Luxor. We finally all ended up in one place, I flip out exhausted from trying to get our little group with everyone else. I grab D and we head off on our own. We went to the MGM Grand and looked at the lion habitat and sat in the sports book and watched the Astros get beat by the Brewers. Afterwards we ate dinner and then to the Bellagio to watch the fountains. We hopped back on the bus and went back to the hotel. Everyone was dressed up to go dancing. We went to Fremont Street to see the light show there and we were told by our hotel that there was dancing there. Uh, yeah, right, no. The dancing there was to a lounge act which kinda sucked. The people watching on Fremont street is prime. I wasn't into dancing and neither was D, Willow or Lala. So we went in separate cabs. Deviate, Spicy and Beale went dancing and Lala, Willow, D and myself all went back to the hotel and played nickel slots and nickel poker. Lala found a machine that did really well and played for a long time. D and I went back up to their room and talked a bit more. Around 3, my contacts were so dry I thought they'd pop off my eyes so we said good night and made plans to eat at the craopy buffet again tomorrow, this time with everyone. As we are walking back by the registration desk I overhear a woman complaining about the elevators not working. I hope she's in a different tower than us, d'oh! She's not. We are on the eleventh floor and I am in no shape to schlepp my sorry ass up 11 flights of stairs, so we wait. They finally get the elevators running and up we go to our room. Soon after we make it up there we get a knock on our door. It's Deviate and Beale come to collect Deviate's things. She's going to stay with everyone else tonight. We go to sleep and don't wake up until Deviate calls us in the morning around 10:30. She's dressed and ready to go. I am barely able to open my eyes and stuble around the room. Where does she get her energy? We go back to bed, but end up getting up anyway. Checkout time is noon and we haven't packed. At noon we meet everyone downstairs and Beale and Spicy don't want to do the crappy buffet. I say good bye to them there because chances are I won't see them again before D and I have to go to the airport. They go off and Deviate, Lala, Willow, D and I all go to the crappy buffet. We enjoy each others company and D and I say goodbye. This account is intentionally vauge to protect the guilty. There are many other stories, but you'll have to hear it from everyone else. Pictures will come soon. |

it's intentionally vague. Other people can go into more detail.

You know what this reminds me of? Remember those riddles/ deductive logic word problems where it said person A lives in a red house, does not read the newspaper, smokes Winstons, lives on the bus line and has a beard, person B lives in a blue house, does not smoke, reads the newspaper, does not live on the bus line and has braids.....and then the question part is something crazy like "so, given all these variables, who drives a green car?"
So. O-KAYYYYYYY, who's driving the green car? ![]() |
