Christ, i've got those too! It's a wolf spider, isnt it? Rather be dead than have you that close, i'll bet. They're fast too! Usually they're out at night, right? I've had em with a leg span of like 5"...and if they have a nest/pillow thing under their stomachs, the babies shoot off on command, like 4thousand of em at once in every direction! Creepy but harmless!

HOLY CRAP!!!!
I am rather fine with spiders. I don't kill things so I am often ushering them outside. I don't like it if they surprise me though. That one would surprise me no matter what!!! Last night I made myself a really big 1500ml Crystal light drink. I used my Mom's old weight watchers jug/bottle. When I reached the bottom and the straw wouldn't reach anymore, I took off the top and was just going to chug the last swig. There was a dead spider in the last tablespoon. It was horrid! I felt ill, I brushed my teeth and used mouthwash and everything. Now I am having a hard time drinking my coffee because I can't see the bottom of the cup.

We have wolf spiders as well, but they are much smaller, thankfully. But they are fast and brazen little critters, and that is what scares me; they zoom. Piper, the boston bull terrier, loves the challange and has personally eliminated quite a few. I had the Orkin man "terminate" the rest. (hopefully) *shudders*
You're a good woman Snake; much better than I.

I like having wolf spiders in the house. They take care of any bugs that the cat doesn't eat.
The problem comes from the fact that the cat likes to eat the wolf spiders, too. |

Urbam mythy thing stops here. It's a huntsman spider. They aren't poisonous and they don't shoot eggs at you either. We usually have one or two around the house to eat the flies. They are all called Fred. This one was despatched out the door after I gleaned a promise from it NOT to run at my hand as I turned the oh so close handle. Then I flicked it with a stick to get it to run around to the outside of the door which I then quickly closed. I did this because I didn't have a glass big enough to catch it in.
