Some more 'o' them question thingies...
'cos it's just time, again...
1) What's the best trip you've ever taken? Why? 2) What's the worst trip you've ever taken? Why? 3) Ever used a dating service? Best and worst experiences. 4) What's your favorite "urban legend"? 5) What do you think of "open relationships" (i.e., married but allowed to be physically intimate with others)? Would you feel differently if the marriage produced children? 6) Should we give criminals, if they are proven to be able to handle this level of responsibility, the option to serve in the armed forces to work off some of their "debt to society"? 7) You have ten minutes to spend $10,000. What do you buy? 8) You have one day off work and unlimited funds. What do you do? 9) Do you know how to sew? When did you learn, and what was the first thing you made? 10) When you retire, do you plan to just relax, or are you going to keep working?

1) What's the best trip you've ever taken? Why?
Honeymoon. It combined a shuttle launch, scuba diving, and some really cool airplanes with the company of a swell guy. 2) What's the worst trip you've ever taken? Why? Second trip to Florida. We took along my mother-in-law. 3) Ever used a dating service? Best and worst experiences. Nope. 4) What's your favorite "urban legend"? Democracy. 5) What do you think of "open relationships" (i.e., married but allowed to be physically intimate with others)? Would you feel differently if the marriage produced children? Having spent literally years hanging out on Compu$erve's old Human Sexuality forum, I learned that in such relationships, usually one person ends up feeling ripped off somewhere along the way, children or no children. 6) Should we give criminals, if they are proven to be able to handle this level of responsibility, the option to serve in the armed forces to work off some of their "debt to society"? Sure, but we should warn them that they won't like it if they screw the pooch and wind up in military prison. That's seriously hard time. 7) You have ten minutes to spend $10,000. What do you buy? A giant flat plasma display and a series of Norm McLaren animations to run on it. 8) You have one day off work and unlimited funds. What do you do? Fly down to Santa Ynez and treat N. to whatever she wants. 9) Do you know how to sew? When did you learn, and what was the first thing you made? I do. The first thing I made independently (i.e. aside from school assignments) was a dress for my daughter. 10) When you retire, do you plan to just relax, or are you going to keep working? Relaxation is impossible for me. I'll start a second career, something a little more playful.

1) What's the best trip you've ever taken? Why?
last summer to st. augustine. romance. meaning. the whole enchilada. 2) What's the worst trip you've ever taken? Why? i went to the beach with my whole family when my kids were little. my brothers were all drunk by 11:00 every morning. 3) Ever used a dating service? Best and worst experiences. just once. it was a nightmare. 4) What's your favorite "urban legend"? the bunny man. 5) What do you think of "open relationships" (i.e., married but allowed to be physically intimate with others)? Would you feel differently if the marriage produced children? as opposed to a closed relationship? some openness is necessary. too much seems to be a bad thing. i've never liked any "open relationship" people. y'know, the people in them creeped me out. 6) Should we give criminals, if they are proven to be able to handle this level of responsibility, the option to serve in the armed forces to work off some of their "debt to society"? yeah, that's what we need, more of a criminal mentality in the armed forces. i think xerocs would be pissed at the prospect that his profession could be replaced by criminals. 7) You have ten minutes to spend $10,000. What do you buy? plane tickets for the next ten years. 8) You have one day off work and unlimited funds. What do you do? the great barrier reef. sailing & scuba 9) Do you know how to sew? When did you learn, and what was the first thing you made? no? 10) When you retire, do you plan to just relax, or are you going to keep working? retire? i might be retired now. |

1) What's the best trip you've ever taken? Why?
Bahamas -- Jack Tar Village. I was 16, I hardly saw my parents the whole time I was there. It was wickedly beautiful there, too. Second runner up.. believe it or not ... Orlando and Disneyworld last November. 2) What's the worst trip you've ever taken? Why? Stuck in a trucker's inn somewhere outside of Glasgow. A certain trip to Philadelphia. 3) Ever used a dating service? Best and worst experiences. Yep. When I first got here, I figured it'd help me meet new people, new friends. Best: taken out by a charming man who arrived with a dozen roses and then off to one of the top restaurants in NYC, then whisked away in a big stretch limo for some jazz music at a club in the village. Worst: most of the ones I ran across had some severe personal issues they needed to address and were using the dating site as a lazy man's way of finding someone to entertain them. I think out of the five dates I went on that way, one turned stalker, one was obsessed with his ex gf and compared me to her (in bad ways), one was just plain crazy and mauled me within five minutes of meeting him, and another was an ex delta force officer with a hidden S&M fetish. 4) What's your favorite "urban legend"? The lights turned off on the car/gang flashing thingy. 5) What do you think of "open relationships" (i.e., married but allowed to be physically intimate with others)? Would you feel differently if the marriage produced children? I don't. Not this girl. No way. 6) Should we give criminals, if they are proven to be able to handle this level of responsibility, the option to serve in the armed forces to work off some of their "debt to society"? Yes. 7) You have ten minutes to spend $10,000. What do you buy? I'd pay off my debts. One click online, and it's done. Sad but true. 8) You have one day off work and unlimited funds. What do you do? I'd go for a spa day. Manicure, pedicure, facial, massage, hair, serene music. 9) Do you know how to sew? When did you learn, and what was the first thing you made? The weird thing about this is that my dad does the sewing in our family. I can barely stitch an inch. I've tried, but it always comes out looking funky. 10) When you retire, do you plan to just relax, or are you going to keep working Me? Ha! You know the answer to this: I'm a workaholic. I plan to teach at a university as my retirement plan. |

Re: Some more 'o' them question thingies...
1) What's the best trip you've ever taken? Why?
Wow... this is hard! I'd have to say the last time I went on a choir tour with the Chamber Singers in high school. So many great memories... We drove to Arizona first... stopped in some small town for dinner and I met one of the most beautiful boys I've ever seen - will never forget him. We were in Arizona for a day or so - I remember the desert, and how clear the sky was and how dry the air was... Then we drove up to Oregon... I remember waking up as we entered the state and thinking I was seeing what heaven looked like. We stopped at Mount Hood for a day skiing - except that I didn't know how to ski; although there were lessons offered I opted to try to figure it out on my own. I was an avid roller- and ice-skater - I was thinking, "How hard could it be?" Finally made it down the bunny slope on my butt. ![]() We stayed in the town of Hygiene, OR ("I wanna be a part of it - Hygiene, Hygieeeeeeene...") for two days and one night. I *loved* it there - we were lucky enough to stay with a family who had an alpaca farm, and were given alpaca-fur hats as gifts (wish I still had that hat! don't know what became of it). It snowed, something I'd had little experience with, real snow that fell from the sky and didn't melt within a couple hours... we *walked* in it! :O Then we drove down to San Francisco for the rest of the week... spent the last few days staying at the Inn San Francisco (our choir director was friends with the owners and so we got a great deal), tanning in the tanning booth, jacuzzi'ing, eating yummy food at Fisherman's Wharf, being spoiled rotten... The rooms are gorgeous - it's an old Victorian mansion and the rooms are painted those wonderful colors that aren't pastels but aren't bright either... I just remember how great it was to be with those people, and not have to worry about money or time or anything... Just so y'all know, the two monkey trips I've taken rank right up there, but just for the sheer carefreeness of that choir tour, I'd have to choose that as my favorite. 2) What's the worst trip you've ever taken? Why? I honestly can't think of one... every trip I've ever taken has had more merits than bad moments. 3) Ever used a dating service? Best and worst experiences. Oh yeah... traditional newspaper personals, Great Expectations, phone personals, online stuff. Best experiences included meeting a really sexy Italian comedian who I ended up dating for a few months (but we ended things 'cos he was too busy trying to have a career), a psychologist who I picnicked with at a digital music concert at Stanford (game hens stuffed with rice; huge ripe peaches with an *amazing* Riesling for dessert) - I was too young for how quickly serious he got & I put an end to it (damn, I wish I knew then what I know now!). Bad experiences happened because I was STOOOOOpid. All happened with the phone dating thing... The first - I talked to him a few times and he seemed sooo sweet that I broke my rule of only meeting guys at a nearby restaurant... he turned out to be a sickly, scary guy ... I won't talk about the second because I can't believe how incredibly stupid I was... could have been very dangerous but somehow worked out. And the third... I had myself a little stalker action, but he was easily discouraged. *whew*4) What's your favorite "urban legend"? Batter-fried rat at Kentucky Fried Chicken. 5) What do you think of "open relationships" (i.e., married but allowed to be physically intimate with others)? Would you feel differently if the marriage produced children? I personally couldn't stomach it. I need the kind of connection a one-on-one provides... and the safety factor is troubling. 6) Should we give criminals, if they are proven to be able to handle this level of responsibility, the option to serve in the armed forces to work off some of their "debt to society"? I would be in favor of it if there was some way of making sure that the only guys allowed to do this had proven remorseful and really wanted to contribute something to make up for what they'd done. 7) You have ten minutes to spend $10,000. What do you buy? A laptop, a digital camera, and whole sh*tload of beads. ![]() 8) You have one day off work and unlimited funds. What do you do? I'd buy a lifetime membership at a really fantastic gym; then go shopping for incentive clothes. ![]() 9) Do you know how to sew? When did you learn, and what was the first thing you made? I do - I learned when I was about 6 years old. I think one of the first things I made was a simple dress - actually, I probably made a pillow and a purse before that. 10) When you retire, do you plan to just relax, or are you going to keep working? Yeah - I'll prolly keep working - I can't imagine just sitting around!

1) What's the best trip you've ever taken? Why?
This last visit to Western North Carolina, probably. Got to hike with good friends, visited a lot of places I love, and had a week by myself. 2) What's the worst trip you've ever taken? Why? Christmas 1995 to Western North Carolina. I had severed a tendon in my left hand a few weeks before and was in a splint I couldn't take off. The US Gov't had been shut down due to an impasse between the White House and Congress. I was too cold and I was one-handed, and all the good trails were not accessible. Not a fun trip... 3) Ever used a dating service? Best and worst experiences. No. 4) What's your favorite "urban legend"? Any urban legend seen on Mythbusters is a fun one! ![]() 5) What do you think of "open relationships" (i.e., married but allowed to be physically intimate with others)? Would you feel differently if the marriage produced children? Marriage is a one on one thing. Should be. 6) Should we give criminals, if they are proven to be able to handle this level of responsibility, the option to serve in the armed forces to work off some of their "debt to society"? Sure. 7) You have ten minutes to spend $10,000. What do you buy? Dinner for all the monkeys. 8) You have one day off work and unlimited funds. What do you do? Buy the building I work in. ![]() 9) Do you know how to sew? When did you learn, and what was the first thing you made? No. 10) When you retire, do you plan to just relax, or are you going to keep working? A little of both. |

1) What's the best trip you've ever taken? Why?
Florida December 1997. We went anywhere the mood took us, and ended up in beautiful Key West. 2) What's the worst trip you've ever taken? Why? Camping 1992. Poured rain the entire time, tent eventually lost the battle and filled with water. We ended up camping the last night in an apartment watching movies. 3) Ever used a dating service? Best and worst experiences. Yes, an internet one. Best? met some nice people and got to go to lots of interesting places. Worst? A drama teacher who simply couldn't understand the word 'No'. When it became clear that he wasn't listening, I explained it in a painfully clear way. 4) What's your favorite "urban legend"? The baby spiders that all come out of a cactus. 5) What do you think of "open relationships" (i.e., married but allowed to be physically intimate with others)? Would you feel differently if the marriage produced children? No way! 6) Should we give criminals, if they are proven to be able to handle this level of responsibility, the option to serve in the armed forces to work off some of their "debt to society"? Sure if they are given tasks which are equal to their skill and crime... mass murderer gets to look for landmines, gang bangers tell them the uniform is their 'colours', bank robbers and cat burglers infiltrate and pilfer. 7) You have ten minutes to spend $10,000. What do you buy? I pay part of a student loan. 8) You have one day off work and unlimited funds. What do you do?Unlimited cash you said? Arrange for cargo planes to transport food and medication to third world children. Meanwhile our North American children who are homeless or unable to purchase food or medicine are given the go ahead to eat, sleep, and get medications and doctor visits. 9) Do you know how to sew? When did you learn, and what was the first thing you made? I know how. Don't sew well. Don't enjoy it. Made a bathinsuit cover up in grade 7. 10) When you retire, do you plan to just relax, or are you going to keep working? I will retire with a hobby/job I enjoy.
