I have had the same shin pads since 1983... About 2 years ago I was forced to solve the 'Yer gear reeks..' problem.. Soak it w/ extra strength Febreeze.. Works like a charm.. Although he will get weird looks on the bench for the 'fresh' smell..!

I put on a half shield 10 years ago.. caught a stick in the face.. cracked my eye socket.. I wore it for 2 shifts.. I hated it.. My fiancee gave me one for Christmas.. I'm getting use to it...
Hard to describe why we don't like them.. Logically it makes sence..!
