Grade 8 Graduation

Today my daughter graduates from Senior elementary school and next year she goes to high school.

I am about to head out and sit with all the other parents in the gym at the school and watch her and all her classmates receive diplomas.

I am so very proud of her for being so smart and doing so well. (She is incredibly smart.)

I take issue with the fact that these children are having such a lavish graduation. The dress was $90 because I am broke. She is wearing a pair of my shoes and her sister is doing her hair. There are children arriving by limo. There are children with their hair and nails done by professionals.

Some of these dresses being worn are 300 or more dollars! Is it just me or is this nuts?
