questions for interviews for my Locals only surf newspaper

As I am not a writer (as you can see), I need some interesting questions to give to the people I meet that surf the local breaks between Seal Beach (Long Beach is a harbor with little window for waves) and Newport Beach. This paper is meant to highlight the everyday Joe or Sally and not about the pros whom have has an interesting but over publicized life of adventure. Most of the everyday/weekend warrior types like me are sick to death of reading about how some hot shot pro is traveling the world and surfing in all these amazing places. It is getting to be a broken record. I would rather read about some of the guys I see every time I stop at one of the many spots to surf in my local area or even somebody new to the area that has just found our newly shared passion. I have set up two interviews with some of the girls I know that surf my regular break, but I have been at a loss as what to ask them other than surfing questions that we would normally talk about. This publication it meant to be picked up by just about anyone and I would bet that people that don’t surf would have some interesting questions about the life style.
These two women are not just surfers but working mothers (one is a marriage counselor, and the other a part time waitress), both are strikingly beautiful, and surf amazing (better than a majority of the guys in the water). They, like my wife and I, take turns surfing while they husbands watch the babies. Please help me generate questions for them and when I set up others interviews, I will give you more info (if I know) on who I am interviewing.
