Okay, guys, I need your help.
August is the one month of the year in which there are no American holidays, no real identifying traits. When you think of August, what do you think of? So far I have: dragonflies gladiolus the beach Can you add to the list?

Is there no August 1st holiday?
 We have a Civic Holiday on the first. I am going away. I leave thursday and return on Monday. The monkey mail list will get cards from one of my favourite places. Oh and August makes me think of my birthday and my Gramas.
