Stories
My granfather only told this story once, but I'll never forget it...
The family was vacationing down in Florida in '62- my grandmother and mom were playing on the beach. So my grandfather decided to go out exploring in the Rambler... As he was driving, he saw a road sign, "Oranges, U-Pick. $1.00" He pulled over to pick up some fresh oranges for his girls. He grabbed a basket and into the orchards he went. It was the perfect time to pick- the oranges were perfectly round and plump. Big too. He happened across two beautiful young women in the orchard. Obviously they had just come from the beach, as they were still in their "bathing togs". And one happened to be particularly well-endowed...One of the women was carrying two large, freshly picked oranges, about chest high. My grandfather eyes them and comments,"Those are the biggest ones I've ever seen!" The woman smiled, blushed and said "Thank you!" and ran off into the trees, giggling with her friend. Realizing what he just said, he yelled at them "The ORANGES. I MEANT THE ORANGES!" |
