Internet Verbiage?
I'm not sure how to start this thread. I want you to share a word or term that you use, that has made other people turn their head & ask you to clarify.
C'mon, try it, you'll like it! Original Definition: pounce ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pouns) v. pounced, pounc·ing, pounc·es v. intr. To spring or swoop with intent to seize someone or something: a cat that pounced on a mouse; watched the falcon pounce on the baby rabbit. To attack suddenly: irregular troops who pounced on the convoy at a narrow pass; a colleague who pounced on me because of a mistake in my report. To seize something swiftly and eagerly: pounce on an opportunity. PFP Definition: Pouncer: A person who is on IM at all times, and has severe diarrhea of the fingers. As soon as they see you have signed in, they IM you. And keep IMing you. If you should dare check your email, get up to get a drink or go pee, etc, they will ask what you are doing, or say 'you must be busy' etc. You can talk to the Pouncer on IM or on the phone the day before. You can have absolutely nothing new to say. IT DOES NOT MATTER TO THE POUNCER. They see you log in & POUNCE!!!! Hence the sentence, "I had to block ***** on IM, he's a pouncer." Before anyone here who IM's me gets a complex, ***** is the one who is a pouncer, not any of you. Now it is your turn. Share with us a word that you have made your own.
