Those damned bananas!!!

For a tasty mid-morning snack @ work today, I was munching on some dried banana slices.

That was a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig mistake.

Why, you ask? Bascially, I've been blessed with soft teeth (aka extremely prone to cavities, breakage, etc). So when I crunched on a particularly large slice, I felt something missing from a tooth that had been there 2 minutes before.

I went to the bathroom mirror & discovered that I broke a tooth, & that the filling was loose & wobbly. With great haste (doesn't that sound pretentious), I called my dentist & told the receptionist what happened, & I am currently waiting on getting in to see the dentist asap.

What's ironic is that I had a scheduled appointment to see the dentist last week, & I cancelled it. Is this karma's way of telling me not to miss another dentist appointment? Perhaps.

But, amigos, the point of all this long-winded speech is to be careful of what you eat. Especially if you have dental issues.

Pax,

I swear my teeth are made of chalk. I just had most of the upper front ones capped this year plus two molars capped. It cost the earth but it was worth it to finally, after all these years, feel good about my teeth.

That's a nasty feeling, though, to crunch on somethng and come up missing a major chunk of tooth structure. Good luck with it, and I hope they do a good job fixing you up.

On December 20th, 2003 I lost a filling from a molar. No biggie, go, have them re-fill it.
NOT!!

2 root canals, a cap and 2 crowns later.....

I will finish paying for them this Christmas; if anyone wants to see their present, I will be happy to show them LOL

Luckily, and it is the only lucky thing, is that the dentist gave me a 12 month interest free payment plan. that amounts to all my money every month

I know how you feel LC and Spart!!

I always have dreams of all my teeth coming out. Like I pull and they just come out like my gums were hot taffy.

Then you definitely don't want to read Stephen King's "The Tommyknockers". Trust me on this one.

Jeez, I never even thought about that. I would have thought the biggest problems with those would be getting food and stuff in the piercing or having it conduct heat (coffee) and cold (ice cream) a little too efficiently.

I hate sprouts anyway, but if I accidently eat some they get wrapped around my tongue piercing. Spaghetti too, but not as bad.

I've had my tongue pierced for 8 years and have never taken it out, except maybe 5 times to put a new barbell in, so it's really weird now to have to take it out every morning and put it back in when I get home at night.

I remember reading something that if you dream that your teeth are falling out (which I've dreamt about several times), it has something to do with money. Can't exactly remember what aspect of money it's supposed to represent; maybe obtaining some?

One can only hope.

Thanks, agent & Avalon. I'll keep you posted w/any "exciting" developments.

Dental work. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
