I have absolutely hated Richard Gere for most of his career. Now that he is older, I find him strangely attractive. The turning point was Intersection. I went over the edge and decided I really liked him after Unfaithful. We won't discuss tht travesty, Dr. T and the Women.
I think Shall We Dance looks good enough for me to ignore Way-Lo. ![]()

He is hot, no doubt, but I still can' t help getting a visual of him and a gerbil everytime I see his face....and that just kills it for me.
Who started that rumor anyways?

This sounds like a cinematic train wreck if ever there was one. Meaning, of course, that the minute it's out on DVD, I'll have to wait until everyone else is out of the house and watch it behind drawn shades.
It's my secret shame -- I like really godawful movies. The worse they are, the better. About the only exception to this is Steven Segal movies. They're not good-bad; they're BAD-bad.

Of course, if Susan Sarandon's in it, she might screw it up by redeeming it, turning it into a decent movie after all. heh heh heh heh....

Or "The Champ"? Or "Autumn In New York"? (A Gere gem in which Winona Ryder assists -- I'm not going to call it acting 'cause I don't know what the hell they were doing but acting doesn't cover it.) Or "Smokey And The Bandit"? Or, more recently, "Along Came Polly"? (I LOVE Jenifer Aniston AND Ben Stiller, but Christ, what an awful movie.) Or "Billy Madison" (which was sort of funny, but it was still awful.) Or "Ash Wednesday" (I adore Ed Burns and Elijah Wood, but Key-rist!) Or "Mona Lisa Smile"? Or.....the list is endless. Wait, no it isn't; it just seems that way. And I would probably watch them all again. Just to see if they were real.

Sim groaned when I picked up "Shall We Dance" yesterday. J Lo really annoys me but we just got done watching it and holy heck I LOVED it. I rarely buy movies but I would buy this one. I used to ballroom dance in college and it made all those excited butterflies go fluttering around in me again that I used to have when I danced. Sim is going to regret agreeing to rent and watch the movie with me because I'm going to make him take lessons with me.
