o superman

o superman. o judge. o mom and dad. mom and dad. o superman. o judge. o mom and dad. mom and dad. hi. i'm not home right now. but if you want to leave a message, just start talking at the sound of the tone. hello? this is your mother. are you there? are you coming home? hello? is anybody home? well, you don't know me, but i know you. and i've got a message to give to you. and the voice said: this is the hand, the hand that takes. this is the hand, the hand that takes. this is the hand, the hand that takes. here come the planes. and the voice said: neither snow nor rain nor gloom of night shall stay these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. 'cause when love is gone, there's always justice. there's always mom. hi mom. so hold me, mom, in your long arms. so hold me, mom, in your long arms in your automatic arms. your electronic arms. in your arms. so hold me, mom, in your long arms.

...and when you think of the activism he practiced before and after the accident, he was in every sense of the term a super man.

Edited to add "before and"

wow. it doesn't happen a lot that someone is a bigger hero in real life than the roles he plays on the big screen..

Awww, I got up late and never turned the news on; Audrey told me. How sad. He had more courage than I could ever imagine having.

Janet Leigh
Rodney Dangerfield
and now,
Christopher Reeve

may they rest in peace.

It's possible (depending on what you believe) that whatever force in the universe decides when our time is up decided that he'd done enough... but I'm sure it was a terrible blow to his family and friends, when he had made so much progress recently, to have him snatched away...

He was beautiful in every possible way. I wish him and his family peace.

Not to sound like a paranoid conspiracy theorist or anything, but don't you think it's interesting that so close to the election, two major advocates for the Democratic Party have had serious heart problems -- Clinton and Reeve?(And Reeve dies within a couple days of being mentioned by John Kerry in the last debate as a friend and an inspirational advocate for stem cell research who he hoped would see successful treatment for spinal injuries in his lifetime... )

Last night I stopped at the computer before having a shot of Nyquil to knock me out and saw this. It's so sad!!! I loved Christopher Reeve. Some of the few bonding experiences I had with my dad when I was young was because of his movies. Sounds weird but it's true. I even woke up this morning and called my mom to tell her. It's just so sad. He truly was a wonderful man.
