My Fahrenheit 9/11 migraine is about to resurface.
FARKERS! Stay out of my house! Off of my stuff!

I hate Walmart more than ever now.

I never shop at Wal-Mart and won't shop at Sam's Club anymore now, either.
Costco, here I come!
That probably won't help but it'll feel better...

Shit, and I just made a grand tour at WalMart this morning. Well. Maybe it IS time to rethink.

I have never liked those "supermarket discount card" programs. My main objection is not paranoid but practical: Quit telling me about all the money I'm saving through all these bullshit expensive marketing/data tracking programs that get blended into my bill and just cut your goddam prices already. But I never have liked the idea that my purchasing habits are being monitored and tracked, either. Still, when you have a houseful of hungry people and their friends and the nearest non-card supermarket is ten miles away, you do what you gotta. But I don't like it, not one bit.

I don't think Dave can move any more to the left.

In the UK, several stores have already almagamated their loyalty cards. I never use them: a 1% discount in return for having all my shopping habits recorded? No thanks.

I have always wondered about those electronic tags on razor blade cartridges. From now on (starting today, I need to go and buy some) I will pick up the blades and rip off the tag before I go the checkout. EVIL GILLETTE!!!!!!!!!

At my local supermarket the card is essential. A product that has a list price of $2.99 will be $1.99 with the card. I don't like the idea of them tracking what i buy but it is the only way to get the best price in my area. I did switch with my father just to screw with them. As mentioned above I am a bachelor and my fathers household is made up of five peolpe. I can only hope we messed up their calculations in some small way.

There are several supermarkets that do that here. I thought this was old news?
