You Mother ****er
I am sick of hearing politcal ads for 15 minutes every morning. I don't even watch TV anymore hardly b/c of them.
But this ****ing takes the cake: County rejects Milwaukee's request for extra ballots MILWAUKEE (AP) — The mayor has requested more ballots for the Nov. 2 election, but the county executive has refused to provide them, citing concerns about voter fraud. Mayor Tom Barrett complained that the 679,000 ballots the county agreed to print were less than the number prepared for elections in 2000 and 2002. He asked for almost 260,000 additional ballots, expecting a large turnout next month. But in a letter, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker said he had "serious questions" about the need for that many ballots. Milwaukee reported having 382,000 registered voters in September and a total of 423,811 residents old enough to vote. Walker said "chaos" could occur at understaffed polling places where voters could grab ballots. He also disputed Barrett's contention that the county had prepared more ballots for the 2000 presidential election and the 2002 gubernatorial vote. City officials said the request for additional ballots was an effort to prevent shortages because some wards have run out in the past. They say some ballots will be "spoiled" by voters' mistakes, and Wisconsin's same-day voter registration makes turnout unpredictable. "I'm going to lay this at the footsteps of the county if there aren't enough ballots in the city," Barrett said. By law, the county pays for and prints ballots. Barrett and Walker both hold nonpartisan offices, but Walker is a state co-chairman of President Bush's campaign, and Barrett is state co-chairman of Sen. John Kerry's campaign. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright 2004 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. Former Wisconsin State Governor Tommy Thompson PROMISED Bush he'd help him win Wisconsin in 2000 & HE DIDN'T WIN. GORE DID. I think Scott Mother****er Walker made a similar promise to Georgie Porgie. There was a protest this morning, I will try to find pics/articles. Meanwhile, I've been thinking of egging his house on & off all day.

Call me a simpleton, call me naieve.... but as "Kindergarden Room Mother" I once organized a 3 class Holiday Party (I know, I was on heroin at the time). The party was optional so it was unclear beforehand how many kids would actually be there and need a fvcking snowflake cupcake.
Ok, so 75 kids possible if EVERYONE shows for the party. Better have 75+ fvcking snowflake cupcakes ready just in case. ![]() What'da gonna say, "Oh sorry, we ran out."

I'm still pissed & have to hang out with my Republican mother today.
Editorial: Cough up those city ballots From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Posted: Oct. 13, 2004 Voter fraud is a serious concern. But having sufficient ballots at polling places in the City of Milwaukee to allow all eligible voters to cast their ballots is every bit as serious, particularly in a contest likely to be as close as the presidential election promises to be. Concerns over both in this election — fraud and ballot access — are understandably heightened. Officials at the city and the county must do everything possible to ensure that both matters are adequately addressed. And they can be without compromising either the integrity of the vote or the right of voters to cast their ballots on Nov. 2. This has become an issue because Mayor Tom Barrett has criticized County Executive Scott Walker for balking at a city request to provide almost 260,000 additional ballots in anticipation of a high turnout. The dispute became public when Walker sent the news media a copy of a letter he sent to City Elections chief Lisa Artison questioning the city’s need for the additional ballots. Although the offices of mayor and of county executive are non-partisan posts, Barrett is a Democrat and state co-chair of the John Kerry campaign while Walker is a Republican and state co-chair of President Bush’s campaign. Consequently, while neither Walker nor Barrett has cited these roles in this matter, the dispute has taken on political overtones in this battleground state. “I think there is obviously a political agenda here,” Barrett said about Walker’s stance. While he said he was concerned about voter fraud, Barrett also said he would do everything he could to make sure there “is no voter suppression.” It’s hard to fault Barrett on either point. Milwaukee Common Council President Willie Hines took it a step further and criticized Walker’s stance as an attempt to suppress the central city vote. This is unfair. For one thing, as Walker pointed out, the original decision on how many ballots to give the city was made by the County Election Commission. Walker says he first got involved when Barrett contacted him to push the county commission to provide more ballots. Walker says the information provided to him by the commission raises a question in his own mind about whether the city is asking for more ballots than it needs. He says the city asked for 938,300 ballots, even though the total city population is 593,920 and the number of people of voting age is 423,811. What’s more, he says the total number of votes cast in the presidential election four years ago in the city was 245,670. Judging just from those numbers, Walker and the County Election Commission seem to have a strong case. Why indeed would the city need more than 900,000 ballots when the number of people of voting age is less than half that number? But it’s more complicated than that. The city has very good reasons to request additional ballots. Ballot-marking errors by voters, damaged ballots and the uncertainties caused by same-day registration require election officials to have extra ballots on hand, especially when they anticipate a large voter turnout. Extra ballots can’t simply be shipped from one part of the city to another on election day to make up for increased demand because the ballots often contain races, such as state legislative contests, that are peculiar to a certain part of the city. In any case, steps are under way to guard against voter fraud. As part of a national effort to protect voter rights on Nov. 2, Milwaukee County prosecutors and private attorneys will be monitoring polling places. But the fact is that, if voter fraud occurs, it won’t be because there are too many ballots. It will simply be a case of bad procedures allowing ineligible people to vote. The county should provide all the additional ballots the city is requesting. Not providing them sends an unwarranted message of distrust even if that is not what is intended. It is simply better to be safe than sorry, as we will all be if people eligible to vote are denied that right. In the interim, everyone should pipe down about either voter fraud or suppression. In a race this tight, let’s err on the side of caution and trust that city officials have a better handle on how many ballots it will take to hold a fair election. That would be one in which as many eligible people as possible get to vote.
