I won't name the place, but I posted a reply to a standard "if you were stranded on a desert island, what music would you bring" type of thread.

I gave them my honest response (in a polite manner), & to my opinion I got flamed for it ("I'm glad I won't be on your island", "Thank you for your participation, but..." etc). Now I realize that not everyone likes the same type of music, but they didn't have to be such pricks about it.

Why am I so pissed? I don't know, maybe I'm not a fan of being made fun of, which is what I felt happened.

Doesn't this just show how much their words have effected me, and that I'm just giving in to their shit? Of course it does. This isn't the first time I've been effected by replies to my comments there. This is just the first time I'm venting about it, is all.

The ****ers.

Anyone else have a negative experience on another message board?

A friend of mine and I were haunting a Neo-Conservative message board hoping to do a little good for the liberal side.

One nasty person said that Democrats were a bunch of envious socialists. I said that I had long ago come out of an abusive first marriage and was a single parent on minumum wage under the Reagan administration and that one of the reasons I am such an adamant social reformer is not that I am envious but that I know just how much poverty and struggle can hurt.

Next argument we got into on the board went something like this:

Me: "I think the Bush administration should be held accountable for the continuing war in Iraq, particularly now that even THEY admit there were no WMD's."

Them: "No wonder your husband beat you."

It was really upsetting. Then a few days later one of them threatened to look up my ex, said I needed a beating for old time's sake -- really sicko stuff.

I cut and pasted a section of their state's Revised Code dealing with cyberstalking. The person desisted and shortly after, the message board was taken down. I think it was pursuant to my complaints to the radio station that sponsored the message board (I made it plain that I had saved the offending material and was prepared to prosecute the offender if it happened again).

It was SUCH a contrast from anything that has ever happened on here. The worst shit that has gone down here couldn't compare with it. Made me very grateful to be here.

I visit a diet/exercise website. They have several hundred forums in which you can ask questions, give & get support, etc.

Someone who just started posting there got their feelings hurt by something that was said in a joking manner. She didn't feel it was very funny & blogged about it & wouldn't shut up about it (on another one of the forums, not ours, she'd never be that bold. One of those passive aggressive bitches).

I thought the new person was being over-sensitive and a drama queen & posted the pic below. Then I went on about my business. When I came back to that board the next day, the thread had been deleted, and I had a PM waiting for me saying "I guess us nasty mean bitches have to stick together" It was the one who'd made the original 'teasing' post. She told me she'd decided to just lurk until further notice. And that before that thread got deleted, I'd been called a nasty mean bitch. LOL

She's back now, but that other ****ing idiot is still there & has a small following now. Everything she posts makes me sick. Maybe I'll put her on ignore?
