plumbing!

I just repaired a slow bathroom sink, and installed a new spout with a water-stopper-thingie in my shower. I bought the stuff (a great big wrench and the spout), did the shower first (easy as pie - just unscrewed the old spout, replaced the Teflon tape 'cos it was kinda old and crumbly, and then screwed the new one on), then tackled the sink.

Let me tell you - I can understand why plumbers charge so much. It's not that the work is all that hard - it's that the insides of pipes that haven't been cleaned for a long time are SUPER DUPER GROSS!!! And... I guess it was a little hard putting the pipes back together again... but I did it!

Boy, do I feel butch. Remind me why I need a man?

Hmmm, considering I just paid the Rotor-Rooter Man another $180 bucks for my main line cleanout, I'm wondering if that pink contraption might also double as a pipe snake thingy?

Two things I always thank God for. I'm not a plumber and I'm not a roofer. However, in my profession, I'm often asked to be one or the other. Fortunately, there's enough people on our crew now that I can concentrate on carpentry. So, I thank God for Norris, Robert, and Jeff!
Welcome back, moN! Keep in touch!

Great for you Lala.
I've done a little bit of everything handy wise, plumbing, roofing, dry wall, insulation, electrical, car repair....etc. (but def NOT a master at any of them...hey, I'm a Master of none )
It's great to tackle stuff on your own...sometimes you just can't get someone on hand to fix something in an emergency, having at least familiarity with your living quarter's systems can prevent lots of damage in emergencies...saving tons of money etc etc etc.

Great to see your ok MoN.
Unanswered "where's Mon's" were making us a bit worried.
Give us a "Howdy Dudes" a week at least?
