Why do I do this to myself?

Have you ever made a promise to yourself like this:

"Oh, I won't watch this movie. It'd creep me out too much."

Well, I said as much to myself when I first saw the commercials for the movie "28 Days Later" (when it first came out in the theatres). Gross & disgusting-looking. Even though I love horror movies, there was No Way I was going to watch it.

Surprise, surprise. It was going to be on tv last night. My sick curiousity got the better of me, & I started watching the movie. I flipped to another channel when it got to be too gross, but then watched the rest of it. And you know something? It wasn't all that bad.

It reminds me of poking @ a wound. I know, odd analogy, but it's the only thing that came to mind.

How about you? What things have you promised not to watch/read but then end up doing so (& even liking it)?
