How do you feel about crisis management? That's a communications field, albeit probably with some experience expected.

Volunteer Services?
All hospitals in this area have a Volunteer Services office that coordinates volunteers to various departments for helping the staff in their daily work.
I was just with our Volunteer Services Director and she loves her job.

Tell me more about your degree. I might be able to offer some ideas if I knew more about PR (communications).

i hate my degree

you know what pr ppl do. coordinate events, create promotional plans, write and get clients in the media, crisis management. there are agencies and in-house ppl.

but, pr skills that're marketable for other jobs and/or relevant classes include: ability to write, team communication, corporate comm, interpersonal communication; most of my classes were in management and advertising

Ok based on my serious lack of knowledge about PR.

You could just go corporate.
Send your resume to any giant company and work 9-5 M-F, in a PR department. Campbell's, Ford, Gov't Agency, Phone company, etc.. Blanket the corporate world with resumes and something will be available.

Or

You find a cause which you feel something for. "Crazy people and disadvantaged kids".
Is there a "Community Health Centre" close to you?
Go there and read the posters. Something should catch your attention. Find out what is available for the homeless or runaways. Who funds the programs available to them? Apply within.
Our public health department has job postings listed in the building. Keep checking it. This method might take a while.

the point of this thread is that this is exactly what i do not want to do

(overall it was meant less for advice and more for lazy complaining and wistful, wasteful apathy)

the rest of the advice es bien

you could join the peace corp. If you have a degree, you will have a shot at the cooler places, like Figi...
