Scrabble as a bloodsport.

But for true drunken fun, no board game - Charades.

I once got "Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung" (Lester Bangs book) in Charades. It was a defining moment. I dumped the guy.

Haemolytic uraemic syndrome.

Bear in mind, the opposing team had no medical knowledge.

Absolutely! (Although hard with groups or alcohol)

Oh jeez. Who here suspects that, when she plays charades, csnake suggests book titles like "The Rubayat of Omar Khayam" and equally impossible movie names?

OMG

Now that I have finished laughing.

Omar Khayam was the very first charade I ever gave out.

I am dead set not kidding you here. It went down in Charade folklore hisotry because:

I gave my friend the clue and she (maybe the combination of green and dodgy eyesight didn't help) promptly said "That's not how you spell it!". Anyway she went on to sign "book, TV, movie". Now book, OK, TV we let slide but movie?! Friend is a bit of a new age quantum freak so we figured she knew something we didn't.

However. Some twenty minutes and a wild goose chase later it transpires that "Omar Khayam" is certainly not how you spell "Ayatollah Khomeini".

LOL! That reminds me of one particularly drunken night of Catch Phrase. My best friend B and I were partners across the table. She gets the card, and comes up with:

Her: The statute of ______!

Me: Liberty?

Her: Yes! Okay! Now, add the highest card in a deck!

Me: Ace?

*buzzer sounds*

*all look confused*

Her: Liber-Ace! What's a Liber-Ace?

Us: Liber-Ace??

*someone grabs card*: Liberace.

Yeah.
