Oh Amanda, Amanda, wherefore art thou Amanda?
yes, i know that technically this means "why are you Amanda" not "where are you, Amanda", but the modern connotations of this phrase insinuate the later rather than the former.
we MISS you! come back, our fair mistress of the night! you enchanting educator of english, you must join us in our drunken merriment! please, don't fade into the deep, dark Japanese twilight, but dance in the light of thine luminescent computer monitor! pants pants pants or no pants pants pants, please do not let the joy of your brilliance fade from the zeFrank board. join us in our merriment and spread your holiday cheer. anyway, we miss you, you little recluse. hope you’re doing alright. Stop by once in awhile. night! -st. |

:comes into class, running. sits down:
Whew! Sorry 'bout that. Nyc- I WISH it was what you said in the other thread, but it wasn't what you were thinking of. I still think you're wrong, by the way. Dev- that has got to be the COOLEST description of me. Can I keep it? Sorry gang, I've been lurking on the board for the last few days as I've been super-busy with cake and ice cream parties for the young'uns. And I haven't been home for the last 24 hours. Lemme see- went to my Japanese lesson, then out for curry lunch as always. Had my last classes for the next two weeks. Got paid. Went out on the piss, missed the last train as it leaves at 11pm (TOO EARLY TO GO HOME). Stayed out most of last night, crashed at a friend's, woke up, had breakie, went to an art museum close by the area I was in (more about that in a sec.), had some udon for lunch, caught the train home. I'm going to the jazz club shortly. Before I do, I'll tell you about the museum. It was fantastic, but what made it fantastic wasn't the art. It was the building. It has the longest escalator in Japan. And along the way up, the wall is composed of pure white ridges. At at a distance, the ridges merge into pure white space. Everything around is white. Out of this white, colors start to become and fill the white space- lights changing color- all around is soft classical music. The end looks like what "It" would be in "A Wrinkle in Time"- a massive soft light "eye" is in the middle of the converging ridges. Point of lights like stars become visible inside the ridges. There was one kid standing in the middle, spinning himself in circles while looking up....I soooo wanted to do the same thing. It was the best use of physical space I have ever seen. The admission is worth just seeing THAT. They also had one of Monet's waterlillies, which completly shocked me- I had no idea it was there. If I'm going out all night, I'll leave a note on the board But I wasn't expecting it, I swear. Thanks kids- it's so cool to know I was missed. I'll catch up with you guys soon enough- Promise. Well, next time you leave a note or something young lady. You gave us all fits. We were minutes away from calling the police and dragging the river.
