Jeff Daniels
My brother called me tonight while he was listening to a radio talk show and Jeff Daniels was being interviewed about his new CD "Jeff Daniels Live and Unplugged". My brother told me that our dad was telling him earlier today that he had listened to a few of the skits and songs on the radio, and he really liked them.
My brother told me that Jeff was going to be at a local book store signing his CD at 7:00, and he thought I should go and pick up the CD and have it autographed for dad. Well, it was raining out tonight and I just got out of work and I wasn't in the mood to wait in line. As I was giving it some thought, I looked down and saw a copy of the playbill of the play my dad was in last weekend. It was written by Jeff, and it is called "Escanaba in Da Moonlight". Then I thought that dad would get a kick out of having the playbill signed. So I hopped in my car, playbill in hand, and drove to the bookstore, bought a CD and waited in line. Twenty minutes later, Jeff signed the playbill and CD. As I handed him the playbill I told him that my father had just been in the play. He asked me for my dad's name and he scanned the cast list. He said "Oh, your dad played Tom Treado." He said Treado was his wife's maiden name. He signed the play bill "To Keith, congrats on your Tom Treado." We are going to give our dad the CD and framed playbill for Christmas. It was worth standing in line. |
