New Year's Resolutions

Have you thought about it? What are some that you have made in the past?

A few years back I made a New Year's to not drink any carbonated beverages. The entire year I stuck to it. I lost 25lbs because of losing that one variable.

I was just wondering how many of you actually think about your New Year's Resolutions throughout the year? Is it something you hang on to and evaluate. It's like goals. They need to be somehow measurable. For example, say I made a resolution to be a nicer person. How would I do that? There are general resolutions that are wonderful ideas but how are you living up to the goal you have set for yourself. I think it's simple to measure. . . if I wanted to be a nicer person I would then simply measure it by my growth in my please's and thank you's and such. That's for an example mind you.

I still have yet to decide my resolution but I want it to be something that I can measure somehow to know that I am not making promises to myself in vain. Like the year I made the resolution to not drink carbonated beverages. How did that make me a better person? Well, I felt better, physically. It affected my life greatly. My stomach was much happier, thus my disposition was much better and I lost weight. Once I figure out what I want to do I'll share it with you all.
