I'm not interested in arguing with you (or anyone else). I simply asked a question, made an observation.
i'm not interested in arguing either but no one wants to be direct about this-- why is it ok for some people to decide what content is right for this board and what is not?

it's a double standard and the parties involved won't address this question. the keep kicking and fighting and all that -- why not enlighten us??

Me, I like it just fine here with the commoners. So if I brought a furrow to your brow, relax. I like it in the light.
oh my god - thanks for this -- i couldn't have said it better myself but for poor malarkey....too bad no one even wanted to treat malareky like a commoner

you know what they say -- if the shoe fits............

I suspect that Audrey felt she did answer the question, in that she noted she felt the "MM" thread was directed at her or people somehow like her, and considered that name-calling. Since no one will define what the term means, we are stuck regards making a judgment call on that one. All I know is that it was a thread of a highly unflattering nature, and that the term emerged during a spat involving the malarkey clan and the Audrey clan. Not a giant leap of logic involved, even for me.

Lest you think I belong to a clan myself, let me point out that I have stated on a number of occasions that I found the treatment doled out to malarkey upon his arrival (and on many subsequent occasions) to be astonishing in the least, and at times I've been horrified. My horror at how rude people can be is not confined to interactions with malarkey, however, unfortunately.

The problem seems to lie largely, though not entirely, in whether people see malarkey as a "real person" (independent identity) or a "shadow puppet." Some people think that shadow puppets are not owed the considerations of real people, since a shadow puppet would be by definition a perfidious sort already and hence somehow "has it coming."

I am so conscious of this not being "my" space that I restrain myself from saying things like "welcome to the board." The space belongs to ze, and even when I don't like what happens to it, I consider that I have exactly two choices: 1) make it better by looking in the mirror and acting on what I see, or 2) go elsewhere. Since ze has been extremely liberal with guidelines, including allowing me to express an opinion anytime I want, that leaves a lot of room.

Once again: feel the fvcking joy.

and audrey i'm still waiting to hear why it's ok for you to say the things you said to zero and to call malarkey a pedophile?? also why is it ok for you to delete and alter your posts and then claim you've never argued with me??

everyone knows you, right? then maybe someone can explain these double standards to me?? why is this all ok for you and yet for anyone else you jump down their throats??
i really like what you had to say trish but just to clarify all of my questions come from way before the mm thread was started so if that's the reason why she's not answering it makes no sense. if in fact the mm thread was created with her in mind (which i'm not saying it was) she's only being treated the same way she has treated others which is my whole point. DOUBLE STANDARD.

I understand why people get pissed off and everything, but if that were the case, I'd have to just trot out that old proverb about two wrongs not making a right. Not just because I like lame-assed proverbs, but simply because (strategically speaking) it is difficult to maintain the moral high ground when you join your opponent Down There, however briefly. If that were the case, of course.

As for the whole business about malarkey being confined to his own thread, yeah, that freaked me out, too. It was just a smaller tighter version of the whole darkroom freakout -- a changing of the structure to fit a niche request/desire. And yes, I thought about the parable of the tax collector and the Pharisee then, too.

If it sounds like I go around thinking uncharitable thoughts about people's posts and things that happen all the time -- well, it's true. I do. It's right there in the title over my swingy-assed avatar. But I end up thinking nice things about the same people. All of you.

i've always enjoyed the "diverse backgrounds" on this board - that's why
i'm still very confused as to where we took "this turn"

i am so horrified by this "you are either with us or against us mentality" -- the either you conform to our posting style our we're going to bully you -- to me that is gross, that is rude and that is WAY boring. i'm sure many people do not care for what i have say -- as i stated before then don't read my posts -- but where did this if "we don't like your style then you should leave and we're going to let you know this" attitude come from and what surprises me the most is that it's coming from people that are newer to the board -- the old timers are being so much more tolerant or out right leaving. it's so unfortunate and i'm still trying to grasp why they feel it's ok to act like that? it's like i said to avalon -- what was said to malarkey to get him to say fvck off -- it still goes unaddressed -- why because no one wants to admit how rude they have been. now it's turned around to be some how my fault and that i get my jollies out this, I need to get a grasp on my life and that there are "unstable" people on this board. Let me assure that I a life, a very full happy life -- but I thank audrey for her observation
there's a term called fighting fair and that is clearly not happening here. i'm done trying to clarify myself -- it's so easy to see. i simply find it beyond ignorant that such liberal open minded people would be so small minded over a little thing like malarkey especially since this is not their place to call the shots. this is not their game to make the rules

What she said. Except I don't have a swingy-assed avatar, so I'd have to change that part.

(In a rather plagiaristic mood.)

I think we need to stop referring to malarkey as a retard, but maybe an idiot savant.

That makes more sense

but it has turned into a creche. a place where all creativity has stagnated into a mulch of useless rubbish - bar a very few who continue to create and use this place for something thought worthy.

hats off to you for destroying creativity. arguing about shaddow puppets when there is so much else you could be doing with your time here.

ze. thank you for this space. I am so sorry it is being used so BORINGLY!
Taste is subjective. Boring is a state of mind that only you can alleviate. Happiness is not a fish that you can catch.

I am sorry that you are gay & have nothing to add to the hair removal thread. That makes me sad.

Who are you (or me, or rmr, or MoN, or Coffee, or zero, or ANYONE) to say how other people spend their time here? You're condemning others for it, then doing the same. Hello, pot? Kettle here. You're black & stuff.

and now you're telling malarkey that he should some how live by those rules -- that's ridiculous
