In this thread we talk about irony

About a month or so ago, I was bitching about another bulletin board that I belong to. Just a quick refresher: 99% of the people there seem to be (& some are) assholes, & I've gotten flamed twice (for no good reason, as far as I could tell). Needless to say, I haven't posted there since I got flamed.

27 days ago, it was my birthday (Dec. 4th). Out of all of the members on that particular board, my name was the only one listed for having a birthday on that day. I find that highly amusing, & ironic @ the same time.

Hmmm...

"Isn't it ironic, don't you think?"

The funny thing about that song is that nothing in it is ironic. She meant coincidence or disappointment, but I guess they had too many syllables.

Resurfacing this old thread today to share my day. My daughter turned 17 today, Yey, Happy Birthday, Ingrid!! I drove her to Motor Vehicals to get her Learners Permit to drive with an adult for the next 6 months. She passed and got it. I dropped her off at home and then went to pick up Erik, the son. We stopped at the nearby convenience store/gas station to pick up milk for dinner. Of course, Erik selected a chocolate bar and gum to add to the bill, whatever. Got back into the car, looked around for crazy gas needing drivers behind me, didn't see any and slowly backed up to leave. Bump. Yep, hit a gas needy car that drove up out nowhere. I didn't even use the F word I was so in shock. I think Erik was disappointed.

So, the day my daughter can legally drive, I hit a car and did I mention, I've never, ever gotten a traffic ticket.. The cop didn't give me one then, but the hub said I may get one in the mail. Fvck!!!!

Heh.

My mother is a notoriously bad driver but when I first got my license was very critical of my driving. One day, after yet another "discussion" about our driving habits, mother came home white as a sheet. I eventually persuaded her to admit that she had had an accident and she asked me to come out and look at the car to see if my father would notice.

The car (blue) had a two foot wide stripe of green paint along its entire length. Mother actually asked me again wether father would notice...........

OK - you win!!! Thank God and you made snort-laugh. Bless you, I've been feeling sh*tty-mad all evening and ruining INGRIDS BIRTHDAY DINNER. Of course, my problem today brought out everyone's crash stories. Fvck them. Not you - Your story was the best!
