bars in Tucson, Az
the Meet Rack- Stone&Speedway: With a bartender called "God" and the promise of a lifetime of free drinks if you're courageous enough to let God brand you...with a red hot branding iron to the backside (I'm not joking - http://www.meetrackbar.com), the Rack is definitely a must see. Oh...don't forget to ask God how he won his oddly shaped ring
The Buffet - 538 E 9th St: Slack-jawed frat boys cram into the Buffet's shanty-like interior many nights, but that doesn't scare away the diehard drinkers who seem physically attached to the stools. The Buffet, in many ways, is a test of self-control. Too many times tipsy patrons take advantage of hot dog specials, pickled eggs, and enormous Coors drafts only to later take advantage of the sidewalk outside. fun, fun, fun.. Ye Olde Lantern - 1800 N Oracle Rd: Technically a restraunt, but a brilliant dive too. My first encounter with the lantern was during karaoke night (yea bad, but keep reading). I walk through the front door look to my right -a diminutive and very old oriental woman caterwauling her way through a Sinatra tune ...on the other side -the bar with the most amazing array of hardcore alcoholics and frightened jocks with dates in tow creeping slowly toward the door. This happens most of the week. I love this bar. ![]() more when I can remember em...
