Oh, the joys of work. Yes, kids, it's time once again for another exciting episode of LC's venting threads.
I walked into work this morning, & discovered piles of "stuff" on my desk; basically minorly-important crap that I haven't gotten to; well, forgotten really. There were several notes left by my boss's husband (whom has tons of input into the business; part-ownership I'm sure), telling me to sort the pile out. That kinda pissed me off. Not because I was denying that it needed to be done, 'cuz it did, but the last person that pulled something like that was my mother (when I lived @ home & had a ton o'crap on my dresser). It's ridiculous; effective, but ridiculous. THEN I discovered something in the garbage can that only came from my "personal" drawer. When my boss called me into her office to discuss the state of the pile on my desk, I asked her about the item from my "personal" drawer. She then told me that she & her husband have the right to go through a drawer at any time, and that there is no privacy at the office. Needless to say, this really got me upset. I didn't show it when she & I were talking, but went back to my desk & did my usual routine. This had me so ****ing rattled, I then decided to clean out my "personal" drawer of all of my things I had stored there. Tea, a few books, chopsticks, & other assorted thingys. I put the stuff in a box, then promptly put said box into my car. So my question, monkeys, is that is it truly "legal" for the powers that be to go through a drawer whenever they feel like it? (I can understand if it's a suspected drug issue, but I do not engage in "recreational substances" while @ work; not that I do anyways, but you get the idea.) And when the hell did we start living in 1984, anyways?!?! ![]()
