Captain Coffee needs a Name
Name my new boat contest.
In the fine tradition of the Zeboard, I am starting a contest (winner to recieved an unspecified/unrecieved prize  ).I have really wanted a sail boat for many years, and last year I got a "wake up call" after losing one of my oldest friends to a heart attack. He is the person I have sailed most with in my life. We used to sail back and forth across the entrance to the Golden Gate in his 18 foot Hobie Cat in our early 20's as well as all over the SF Bay, and even out into the oceon on a couple of hairbrained trips. I'm not athletic enough for that kind of boat anymore and wanted a small cabin sail boat I could explore the Bay Area and the Delta in, as well as being able to camp in it for long weekends, or trailer up the coast to other bays and inlets. But I'm broke...so I finally thought to place a Craiglist ad in the SF Bay boat section and offered to trade graphic services for a small trailerable sail boat. A VERY EXTREMELY SUPER COOL guy in a nearby town contacted me and told me he would GIVE me his boat just for taking it away  . It is in good condition, and only needs a paint job, perhaps a new mainsail, and a bit of work on the trailer. So I am STOKED  .Here is a picture of my 16 foot sailboat in its current neglected but protected home under the guys carport...I"ll be picking it up tommorow or Sunday unless I have to replace the tires on the trailer before moving it.  It needs a name of course, and I'd love to get suggestions from this creative crowd. It's model name is "Neptune 16" if that suggests anything. Thank you in advance. |
