actually if you saw the underground PETA video that they took of one of the KFC chicken ranches, you can sort of see their point, its absolutely disturbing what those chickens go through.

I grew up on a farm, and saw the death of my food (except for the cows and pigs). My dad would chop the heads off chickens, and blundgeon the rabbits. At the age of 5, it did not bother me. We use to fish, and all sorts of stuff. The older I get, the harder it gets for me to handle the fact something died to feed me. So, I don't fish anymore, and I just can't be associated with the death of my food. Once in a while, my family would buy lobsters for dinner, and I would have to walk outside while they were being boiled alive. Hell yes, I ate them. Wow, I guess I should just not eat anything but dirt and grass. |

I'm a vegetarian. For a long time I thought the same way you did, disturbed by the reality of where the food in my fridge came from, but I just tried to ignore it. Eventually I decided to try giving up meat for a while, and it was the easiest thing I've ever done.

To answer your question, it isnt the killing method that the protests by PETA and other organizations are all about - its the way the chickens are raised up to the point. The KFC chicken slaughter houses are known to fire so much steroid into the chicken in order to produce a large meaty breast and thigh, that the chickens' body mass exceeds its growth and what ends up happening is by the age of 3 months, the chickens' body weighs so much its little legs cannot support him, and they literally snap. Because there are so many thousands of chickens rammed into the area at once, the injured chickens with the snapped legs just sit there and wait their death. Other examples are the use of the steriod itself causes extreme pain in the hens, as well as a hidden camera brought into the slaughter houses for KFC that observed workers picking up the chickens with the broken legs - by the head, and tossing them around while they were still alive. Ive seen the video, its quite disturbing. The arguement is - they are bred for death, however i think what the protesters are concerned about is quality of life for all god's beings. |

FYI,
here is the KFC video - its along the left column. Its one of several ive seen i cant find the other two. http://www.peta.org/feat/moorefield/ "Workers also ripped the animals’ beaks off, twisted their heads off, spat tobacco into their eyes and mouths, spray-painted their faces, and squeezed their bodies so hard that the birds expelled feces—all while the chickens were still alive." |

So do you think it's the injected hormones that makes me run for the bathroom every time I have tried to eat @ KFC in the last 15 years?
I mean, I don't eat there anyway due to the GALLONS of sodium they use in their food, but still. It's something to think about.

I hope this information kills the desire to eat KFC in everyone who reads it. I am glad the Col. is dead or I would have to hurt him myself.
