Seriously though, for the last two days radio around here (Albany) has sucked major ass. The tape player in my car has been acting weird, so I'm forced to listen to the radio (& I won't buy a cd player stereo for my car; call me cheap, but there it is).

Don't get me wrong; once in a while, radio will have a tendency to kick ass. I just hope that it'll be that way again soon.

Radio Sucks..

It's corporate dominated and has no soul any more.

The only stations I truely enjoy in Montreal are the CBC and CKUT, the local community radio station. It is licenced by the CRTC only to play material that would not cut into the regular ratings of corporate radio. You hear the most interesting music, words and ideas on this station. Every year they have a public listener funding drive.

The rest of the stations out there are shite. Every one of them sounds the same. Add to the mix the Canadian Content laws, and you get way more brian adams, celine dion and tom chochrane than any one human should ever be subjected to.

Now there are these stations that don't even have a DJ. Just a computer that plays the music all day with a few voiceovers here and there to keep you into it. The have an afternoon drive guy to keep up with the raitings race... man, where is the originality in that?
