Hepatitis C

Well, my boyfriend has it. He had a blood transfusion prior to 1992. He has not felt well lately, so I insisted he go to my doctor. My Dr. did a physical, and did a blood test. The test revealed he has HC. So, my Dr. is scheduling him to go to a specialist. I have to go get blood work done to make sure that I am o.k. My blood test is scheduled for June 20. Wish me luck.

That sucks, I hope he recovers from the treatment, there's like an 80% chance he will. I found some good facts about it online check it out:

Klynne - someone close to me just went through a six-month treatment for this (peg-interferon and some other things) and by the third month was virus-free. They felt like crap on a pancake while doing the once-a-week dose (it's like giving yourself the flu - you feel pretty out of it for about 3 days a week) but they're getting all their energy back and in fact feel better than they can ever remember feeling. I hope this proves true for your bf, and that you're clean - hepC is evil. *hugs for Klynne*

Know 2 people that went through this. One was far too weak for the interferon...the doctors kept telling her that her problems were "hormone related" for years until her liver began to fail. Her husband, on the other hand responded remarkably well to interferon and is now virus-free, although it is an ass-kicker. I wish you the best. It sucks, but it's definately beatble.
