Well folks, here's my handy public service announcement for this week:

When trapsing through a wooded area, especially in a cemetery (like yours truly did earlier today; Sunday that is), please keep in mind that ticks are out & about in full force this year. I totally forgot about those ****ing things.

Tonight, as I was getting ready for bed, I discovered a tick on my skin. I was able to pull it off w/the head intact, and fully cleansed the area.

If you decide to go into the woods, wear a long sleeved shirt, tuck your pant leg into your shoes, wear shoes & socks, and use bug spray that helps to repel ticks. And, if you do find a tick on your person, try to remove the entire body; if the head remains under the skin, an infection could occur.

Check out Webmd.com for additional info, as it is a great resource for all sorts of medical issues; Lyme disease being one of them.

once upon a time in a vast forest lived a poor family. since there was a famine, they had zero food.

there was a woodcutter who had a mean wife and a boy named hansel and a girl named gretel. The mean wife decided to get rid of hansel and gretel so she could have more food. the children overheard her plan to leave them in the forest. hansel gathered pebbles from his yard.

next day the children were too lazy to get up. the wife said, "get up, you lazybones!" the family went for an expedition on a forest trail. hansel lagged behind to make a trail of pebbles.

the mom and dad told them to wait there and they would be right back. hansel and gretel knew that they wouldn't come back to get them. they waited for the moon to come up so that they could see the pebbles. they followed the pebbles back home.

the wife was infuriated! the next day the wife took them back to the forest and left them. She had given them some bread for their lunch. Hansel had dropped breadcrumbs so that they could find their way back home. The next morning, Hansel and Gretel went to follow the breadcrumbs back home, but they were gone!

they were afraid they'd never get back home. they were in a quandary! they saw a snow-white bird that led them to an enormous candy house. they were starving so they started nibbling on the house. it was very sweet and juicy!

an ugly witch opened the door and said, "who is nibbling on my house?" the witch pretended to be a kindly witch. she said, "come in my little angels." she fed them some pancakes and put them to bed. but the witch was really very mean.

the next day the witch put Hansel in a cage to fatten him up for her dinner. everyday the witch told Hansel to stick out his finger so she could see if he was fat enough. her eyesight was bad so hansel tricked her. He stuck out a chicken bone instead of his finger.

the witch got tired of waiting so she told ggetel to check the oven to see if it was hot enough. But Gretel said she didn't know how. the witch went to show her how and then gretel gave her a tremendous push into the oven. The ugly witch roasted to a crisp!

gretel got the keys and unlocked hansel's cage. hansel and gretel jumped up and down and yelled, "YIPPY! WE'RE FREE!" they found jewels hidden in the witch's house. they were gathering them up when they heard a knock at the door. they opened the door and there was their dad.

they were so happy to see each other. they showed him the jewels which would make them very rich. he told the children that he had sent the mean wife away. the three of them lived happily ever after in the candy house.
