Just called the Real Estate Agent today

Well, it is time to move. I have been in a relatively nice neighborhood for ten years. It is interesting that my street and a couple of streets around it have been nice and quiet, and well kept. This is changing rapidly.

When I first moved in, I knew there was a rental house across from me. The landlord use to move in nice people. The tenants he has moved in have gone from bad to worse. For instance, they blare music all day long, sometimes well into the night, but I hesitate to call the police. On weekends, they normally stop the music at 2:00 a.m. I have talked to the neighbors (the offenders) about it, and they did agree they would not play the music so loud late at night. The daytime music drives me nuts too. Very loud and offensive (to me) rap music. However, I think any kind of music blared that loud would disturb me. It is so loud, I can hear it with all the windows and doors shut in my house.

So today, I called a real estate agent. I have friends that have used her to help them purchase homes, and they were thrilled with her.

The thing I fret about the most is that when I start to have open houses, they are going to be blaring their music and turning off any potential buyers. Perhaps the real estate agent will have some good ideas. Do you monkeys have any good suggestions?

One more question. Is it my responsiblity to talk to the neighbors before I call the police, or should I just do it? I don't want to be a crappy neighbor, but fark, doesn't anyone have common sense anymore?

Sorry to hear Klynne. Can you talk to the landlord across the street? Maybe, show the house when the McLouds are away? Good luck.

You need to just schedule them whenever.

My mom made a point of letting my yappy little wiener dog out into the yard when ppl were looking at the house next door. He's a part of living in that little blue house, because he barks his head off in the yard next door. The new buyers should know about the music, in the same vein.

Also, it might not bother someone else.

It bothers me too, that is crap! I have lived in nice n'hoods that went to crap before though, so sometimes it is best to move. At least you have the option. I can have J talk to you if you want, he is a licensed real estate agent, he got my bro in texas a rock star loan for the house he just bought. pm me if you need advice, he is home during the day right now with nothing better to do. I will pimp him out for you!

Call the police. Complain about them. Insist that the police drive by and talk to them. That is seriously not ok.

Or maybe speak to them again - they might be more reasonable if they realise how much it's bothering you. Or otherwise - not sure if this works the same way in the USA - but it's illegal to disturb the peace (even during the day), you could remind them of that, maybe in a letter? Then if they carry on, call the police

The real estate agent called me today, and good news! She is coming over next Friday to tell me what I need to do to make my home sell quickly. I know her and she is cool. I explained my problem about the rental neighbors, and she told me if they keep that crap up when we try to sell this place, she will have a talk with them, and if that does not work, we will call the landlord and the police. And, I have talked to four other neighbors that are planning to sell. One asked me for my agent's number, and I gave it out. My agent should give me a discount dang it! I drummed up business for her.

Yes, it has been a happy home for ten years. Yet, the neighborhood is going downhill fast. It is just not the McLouds, there are other things going on, that have not reached my street yet, but I can see it moving in rapidly. So, time to get out.

I called my mortgage company to see how much I owe on this house. Even better news, I owe less than $50,000. This is after two refinances, and I did not take any cash out. I am so thrilled, because houses are selling on my street for between $115,000 to $125,000. Real estate prices on the west side of Grand Rapids, and Grand Rapids as a whole, are very low. If I sell, I should have about $50,000 to plunk down as a down payment on my new home.

I spent two hours tonight just cleaning out clutter. My weekend will being spent doing more of the same. Wish me luck monkeys! Lurves, me.

p.s. MS still with him, and things are going well. No major fights.

It is amazing to see what I have in my closets and cabinets. There are some moments of, "Oh, I forgot I had that!" And other moments of "What is this, and what does it belong to, and why do I have it?" That stuff gets pitched.

My mom and dad have offered to help paint, repair, and do whatever I need done. They would help me clean out the clutter, but I prefer to do that part myself. I want to have it done by Sunday. The kitchen is just about done. Oh, and by the way, how long does olive oil and spices last? I have not used any of this stuff in about two years. I never cook anymore. Should I just get rid of it all? Oh, and ewwww, I opened an air tight container in which I stored flour. Bugs everywhere. Needless to say I got rid of that.

So the twits next door were the cat-alyst you needed to get around to leaving anyway? Well, good on ya. And best of luck w/ the selling price, buying price, moving etc.

A ten year cycle turns over! Exciting.

What a tiring week. Yes! The clutter is almost gone. I spent two nights on my bedroom this week. It is almost done. I have boxes all over the damn place, and have not cleaned a bit, which is giving me angina. My younger brother and sister-in-law will be here tomorrow, and I have not dusted, washed the dishes, or vacuumed. I am so focused on cleaning out the clutter.

I called my brother and told him that my house is a wreck. He says he does not care, but I do. He and his wife are traveling from Savanah to vist. They will be here tomorrow at 5:00. At least I have clean sheets to put on their bed.....And, they are bringing their dog. My brother told me, don't worry about his dog, she loves everyone. I told him that was all good, but my cats hate dogs, so we have arranged to smuggle in the dog while the cats aren't watching.

To make matters worse, one of my cats is an angry pisser. Apparently, one of them gets disturbed about change, any change, and pisses all over. We haven't figured out which one does it yet, but, there is calm in the house right now, so thats why I dread having a dog in here. But, I think we have it figured out. Bring the dog in a seperate entrance, so the cats don't have to deal with it. Well, I have rambled enough. Wish me luck Monkeys. Lurves, Me.

Enjoy that 30 seconds before the cats figure it out.

Fancy that; so's one of my offspring.

In all seriousness; good luck with the move. Be well. Hope it all works out for you. Moving can be exhilarating and rejuvenating once the pack/unpack dust settles.
