Termites

Have any of you had to deal with these creatures?

I was working on the house, and I noticed some dead ones on the front porch. The porch is enclosed, and I found them between the screen and the window (just in one window). The porch is wood and brick with a brick foundation. I know that they are subterranian creatures and that they burrow up from the earth. I did not see any mud tunnels. Yes, they are termites, I went on the internet and researched it. I called an inspector and am awaiting his call.

The good news is that I went into the basement and inspected the floor joists, and I didn't see any live activity.

You are going to need/have an inspection for pests before selling..get it now and get it out of the way; you will know exactly what you are dealing with and what it is going to take/cost to fix it. What kind of foundation do you have? Better now than to have a sale stall because they find bugs Let me know how it goes! Good luck, hon.

The foundation is cinder block and brick. However, the basement windows are wood and touch the earth, but there is no live activity. I am still going to order an inspection though. My dad looked at the house, and he does not see anything going on either. Cross your fingers for me!

here in FL. if you see one or two, there are about 5000 you can't.
