*excellent* cat food
As some of you know - one of my cats has been experiencing really poor health, for which we tried different medications, blood tests, stool tests for worms, different kinds of food - all with no result, no indication of diabetes, thyroid problems, cancer - nuthin'. We were starting to get really worried - the little guy was thin as a rail (though hungry all the time and eating like a horse) and starting to lose his fur, lying around all the time, chronic diarrhea. It was really horrible - not sure who it was worse for, him or us.
Well - the bf did some research - and came across a description online of a cat who had the same symptoms and had also had all the tests with no result. What finally worked for this cat was a raw diet - turned him right around - all symptoms overcome. We figured - what the heck - we'll give it a try. We've been feeding Merlin this food for about a week now - and for the first time in - well, forever - he's had normal stools and is acting like the little silly guy he used to be - seems really happy, loves the food. His fur is growing back, he's putting on weight - it's *amazing*. If anyone is interested - here's a link to the company who sells the food. http://www.felinefuture.com/

Hi, LaLa!
I am so happy to hear you've found something that works for your little Merlin. What a relief! There is nothing worse than worrying that something seriously wrong may be happening to a pet. I have a cat and she has chronic colitis...some kind of parasite that she picked up as a stray is the cause. They said that cats get it from drinking dirty puddle water and that people in 3rd world countries get it, too! But the result is a "low residue" cat food...it doesn't cure her, but is supposed to make her poop less so she experiences the symptoms less. I wonder if this food would help address the actual symptoms? I'm gonna read up on it and ask my vet! |

Awww... poor little girl. That must make her so uncomfortable...
It certainly won't hurt! It's more work - you have to buy raw meat & cut it up (or you can buy ground, though I just feel like it's better for Merlin to have to chew the food thoroughly, since he usually just snarfs it down) and mix in the powder - but it's SO wonderful to see him savoring the food, his fur coming back dark and soft, and his little skinny back filling out - it's totally worth the extra effort!

Oooh! OOoh! I have a question...
What if, just supposing, the only food that made your cat better was raw dolphin, and you could buy it from a black market tuna fisherman, would you buy the illegal dolphin to feed the cat and make him better? This gives me an idea for a thread...... |
