Cats and Pools

If you please, I'd like to hear from anyone that has a pool and cats that go outdoors.

Have your cats ever fallen into the pool? What happened, did they get out okay?

Thanks for any input you have on this.

dinz, try to control yourself, okay?

My mom has a pool and outdoor cats. Never had a problem. The cats do like to drink the pool water.

FWIW, cats are very good swimmers.

My cat fell in twice. Some cat on the other side of the screen charged it, and it forgot where it was.

Both times, it went straight to the bottom (dead weight) kicked off the bottom and swam angry and humiliated to the stairs.

Not only are they natural swimmers, they know where the stairs are.

Growing up. our nextdoor neighbors had a built-in swimming pool with a 8 foot tall wood fence around it. We had open access to use it anytime. Our cat, Tuffy, decided to follow us while we were there for a swim, climbed over the fence, stalked over to the side of the pool, leaned over the water and fell in! Then he swam over to the ladder and climbed out, shook himself off like a dog, licked himself like a cat, ingored us like a cat because we were laughing, and climbed back over the fence to go home.

Ommy Iggy fell into the spa bath once. Turned around, swam to the edge and flew out in one quicker than the eye moment.

Cats can swim. Pools aren't an issue.

Pools aren't really an issue, but solar covers are.
