Arrow fib

  • fib is a form of poetry similar to haiku, but based on the fibonacci sequence.

  • the fib is a six line, 20 syllable poem with a syllable count by line of 1/1/2/3/5/8.

  • the only restriction on a fib is that the syllable count follow the fibonacci sequence.

  • example:

    one
    small,
    precise,
    poetic,
    spiraling mixture:
math plus poetry yields the fib.

    ................................gregory k

to begin:

hands

he lay there waiting
and this is the story he told:

once
two
great ships
sailed across
the Indian Sea
one held life, the other held death

flags
white
bone dry
whispering
let me take you home
as night winds filled our dreaming sails

i
pledged
that I wouldn't
