Bobbie, I'm fine with whatever so far as pledge collection, I think next Friday is great for pledge date. If you don't mind setting it up, and putting a link on the wiki pledge page. I'll be glad to help however I can. My e-mail is Graymonw@yahoo.com by Graymon 14:36, 16 August 2006 (PDT)

What I'll do if folks want me to handle it is post my Paypal address somewhere that you can send the money. I think it's possible people might vote for the 'fundable.org' option, in which case I'll be happy to set up the 'pledge group' to collect the money. Let's see which option wins out Friday and proceed from there.bobby_macrap at me

Sounds good Graymon 08:36, 17 August 2006 (PDT)

Since there is a tie in the consolation prize, I think you should break it, which means a chess board it is! arc

The chess set I suggested is only $12.99. We may be able to do both.bobby_macrap at me

I can't imagine us paying more than $20 for a shirt, so if we do get all the pledged money we can probably afford a nicer chess set. We should probably gather a few options. M4cfr34k

:*That's fine. There are already at least three options on the consolation prize page under 'chess set.' I'll get the best one we can afford and if you really want to explore this...you can probably make a page and get some more feedback on it.bobby_macrap at me

Designing Ze's Shirt

Design Ze's T-shirt here.

  • Do any of you have a problem doing just the chess set? I only ask because I don't see much movement on the 'Design Ze's Shirt' page. I don't want this to turn into a second coming of 'Design the German Kid a Shirt." (see the forum if you don't know what I mean). I propose that if there isn't a serious submission that we just get the nicest set possible. If there's any money left over, I'll use it on a wishlist book, since that was the 2nd most popular option. What do you think?bobby_macrap at me
  • I'm fine with that, but then I voted for a book originally. Kingpatzer 16:50, 24 August 2006 (PDT)
  • Well, I'm still willing to iron something onto a homeless man's t-shirt. Once we're ready for the chess set send off, we'll take a quick peek at the t-shirt page and see if there's anything worth ironing. No need for money, since a shirt will cost me about a pledge anyway. Somejeff 19:20, 24 August 2006 (PDT)
  • I won't throw a tantrum, but I guess I think the "all I got was" doesn't suck too badly. Granted, it doesn't have an image (a 3-D duckie-knight would be cool but obviously is not forthcoming), but my preference would still be a text-only tee and a chess set. Sford 11:51, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

Paying for Ze's Gift(s)

I'll accept money at my Paypal address and snail mailbox until midnight Eastern time, Friday August 25th. Whatever I have collected at that point I'll use to buy the gifts we decided on (currently the designed t-shirt and the chess board).

One of the easiest ways is through Paypal. If you don't have an account you can sign up at [Paypal.com]. It's free to send money and you can send it to the following email address:

rmccaffrey2@cfl.rr.com

  • I only signed up for paypal yesterday, I don't think it will have confirmed my bank account in time for the deadline. Is it ok if my pledge is a little late? He who says zonk 19:49, 23 August 2006 (PDT)

Snail Mail

If you don't want to use Paypal, you can send your contribution to a physical address. Email me and I'll give you mine.

Which Set?

Magnetic with drawers

This magnetic set with drawers is, by far, the best one I've owned. It has the following features:

  • just under 1'x1' (big enough to play, small enough to carry around)
  • magnetic pieces (so when you move from the one place to another, you don't lose your game)
  • two drawers that you must open at the same time (I never lost a piece yet)

The set is from germany, It's worth looking for a local distributor (or I can get it) Somejeff 14:24, 21 August 2006 (PDT)

  • That's funny. I have a really old version of this set, but instead of drawers the board folds in half. It's got to be 30 years old. I set it up again for the first time in years to track the Fabuloso game.bobby_macrap at me
