Magic Dumpster:Fabuloso Friday 2/Fabuloso Chess/The Stakes
From zefrank
Open (unstructured) discussion
The way things looked before I cluster-f*cked them into the rigid and narrowminded structure above. I put this back though because it has a fresh feel to it, maybe I'm starting to like unstructure more and more :) --Gelbitalk 18:47, 24 June 2006 (PDT)
Another thing to discuss are "the stakes of this game" which "are yet to be determined. You might want to contribute your ideas". Any suggestions? -Disso 11:13, 23 June 2006 (PDT)
- If we win we'll need to see some ze ass, no? And if we lose - its's ALL of our asses...
- If we win, Ze re-posts the mysteriously deleted episode.
- I think the stakes for the deleted episode were determined by Ze already, and judging by the response people aren't all that eager to see it again. Some fresh not previously deleted Ze ass would be more fun, but still... I think we can do better. And keep in mind, how long can this chess game last? How soon can we win? Let's say 20 moves, that'd be 8 weeks away. -Disso 12:31, 23 June 2006 (PDT)
- I don't know what you're talking about. I, along with over thirty other people took pictures of our bare behinds to see the deleted episode. Rocco 14:59, 23 June 2006 (PDT)
- And I commend you for it. But only twelve of you had the boomwow to include your faces, that's three a day since Ze asked on Monday, which means we'll hit fifty in another um, three weeks? Slow going. -Disso 16:00, 23 June 2006 (PDT)
- After seeing the page why would you even admit that? there's some real butt ugly butts out there. Makes me think there should be a law.

- But to get back to the stakes, I've got a couple other suggestions, things I'd like to see:
- A ten minute show, but thinking on that Ann's proposal (below) makes complete sense: a musical show would be much more fun than [the show]x4.
- A show completely shot outside of Ze's apartment.
- A show where every shot that's not a still has at least two living beings in it, one of which may or probably should be Ze, the other might be:
- Duckies
- Annie, or
- A show with a co-anchor, for instance
- Chelsea
- Bonesaw
- Some other six-year old. Don't know why, but I think that would be awesome and would work very well with Ze's style. Maybe not a whole show, but a considerable segment of one.
- the old lady from his block who thought he was funny
- However, I've got no ideas yet about what we could offer if we lose. Hey it could happen, this is Ze "Checkmate" Frank we're talking about. Anybody? -Disso 16:09, 23 June 2006 (PDT)
- We could agree to buy him one of his choices on the 'buy me a gift' portion of his site. I'd kick in a buck for that. (We need to come up with something cool for us if we win though)..bobbie_mac
- We could have Ze sing through an entire episode- "Ze Frank: The Musical" (21:14, 26 June 2006 24.187.8.153)
- In the eventuality of our losing, we should get him the biggest g*ddamn duckie money can buy! (21:16, 26 June 2006 24.187.8.153)
- i'd like to see a live concert. at least 10 minutes of ze and a guitar performing any songs he wants. kind of "the show-unplugged". Ann 18:21, 23 June 2006 (PDT)
- nudie pictures? fifty dollars? thats what i usually play for (21:14, 26 June 2006 67.176.120.160)
"How about a game of chess?".... "No, Ze. Let's play Global Thermonuclear War." (19:37, 27 June 2006 69.150.181.131)
- Eh... except that chess was our idea, and so on; also: confuzzling to continue conversations inside the dumpster. - Disso 11:09, 27 June 2006 (PDT)
- Just a reference to the movie "Wargames"... it didn't contribute to the Discussion, so I gave it to the dumpster to begin with. - Argonbeam3500 13:18, 27 June 2006 (CDT)
- Power corrupts, Disso. Just because I'm not a registered user shouldn't mean I'm not allowed to correct the spelling of my own moniker. -Argonbeam3500- (Not ArgonBeam)
- Ah I see! Funny, conversation breaking out all over the damn place, even inside the trashcan. I'm not sure who did what to your username though? And please, you have exactly as much power to edit as I do around here. I'm glad about that, because with more power comes more etcetera, and to that I say no thanks I'm good ^_^ - Disso 05:10, 28 June 2006 (PDT)
- I think my edit may have gotten swiped by a page cleanup of the Board vandalism you mentioned. Te nada. Argonbeam3500 23:38, 28 June 2006 (CDT)

Getting more money
Well, here is a serious concern. And maybe one way to get more money in, is if it gives you some priviledge in voting. The most sane approach I think would be to say only people who have contributed with at least $3 gets to vote? What do you say???
- Well, that would be no voting for me anymore. I don't have any money online. Is it me out of every vote ever on the wiki? Is american democracy reverting to european democracy circa eighteenth century, where only the propertied had a vote? But let's not go into a political rant here, bad for my blood pressure. I don't think it's a sane idea.
- (Update:) Urgh, I should leave this alone, but if this is the most sane approach, what were the insane options like? - Disso
- The insane approach is to give one vote for each $ you put in. Now, at the time when I wrote this, we had only $20, if we are up to 70, then that's fine and we don't need to require anything... just that I would put more money in, if I knew the poeple deciding the vote had some stakes in the game as well. I would really like us to get up to $130 and maybe we will, and maybe I'm being too paranoid about possible abuses, thinking about it now, I am definately being paranoid. gelbitalk
- Getting money is easier the more exposure you have. The German kid's shirt was paid for in a few days because Ze kept mentioning it on the show, and there was an easy paypal link right next to the movie. Don't know how many viewers there were back then, but I'm guessing at least tens of thousands who have heard Ze ask for donations a couple times. We don't have that exposure here in the depths of the wiki. Again I think that for purposes like raising money a board would probably be more effective. - Disso
- PS - the German kid never got his shirt.
- It's true, Disso. I hadn't checked back here till I heard Ze say that he accepted the stakes. --Sford
- I agree. Paying to vote is spooky. We already have enough money to get a book off Ze's list. Let's just list what level we're at and run this like a pledge drive.bobbie_mactalk
- So is this a pay to play now? And do you expect to lose?
- Hell no! We expect to kick ass and get a musical show. But as gentlemen and ladies, we prepare to honor our part of the bargain. : -)
