Subpages

As the project grows, please use subpages (they start with a /) to help keep things organized. These pages automatically get a link back to the main page so it should help people from getting too lost. muyfabulosotalk 08:54, 15 June 2006 (PDT)

oops, I love subpages, but in a bit of a different context, I was thinking about categories for organization, like Category:Fabuloso Friday 2 - Mark

Voting

There should only be discussion about a show, nothing more. There should be no voting. [previously unsigned comment by User:66.150.206.225 ]

What do you mean no voting.. How would we get things decided on then? Discussion would most likely be mostly about a show, I don't think we need to enforce that tho. Fresheneesz 16:06, 9 June 2006 (PDT)
I think the voting happens in the main article page. --Sford 08:36, 10 June 2006 (PDT)
This weekend, elect an editor.
I thought that the voting worked quite well in the discussion pages, although we need to 'advertise' the fact that voting is happening more clearly... Perhaps it's something that will come with experience. CeruleanNinja

Media for FF2

One of the issues with the first FF is that a lot of the media people uploaded didn't make it into the show. Maybe this part of the discussion can help that out. Some multimedia basics:

  • It sounds like FF2 is going to be very dependent on these short segments. Media will most likely have to be matched up with a segment to make it into the show.
  • Keep file sizes small enough to be managable, but not so small that it's impossible to use the media.
  • Think about how the final piece of media gets to Ze so he can use it. The sports racer gallery and FF page have places to upload your media.
  • Note that video has special requirements. There was a big push to do a 'ticker' last show. If that idea had made it, Ze would have had to create this himself, or would have had to receive a relatively large file (several hundred megabytes) and needed special software to place the file correctly. He's a web guru for sure, but I don't see any evidence that he's doing 'the show' on anything more than iMovie. That piece of software can't handle compositing a pre-made ticker.Bobbie mac 13:18, 14 June 2006 (PDT)

I've uploaded a logo for ff2, should we put it in the article or not? you can take a look at it here: friday fabuloso 2 --Mischa zog 01:37, 14 June 2006 (PDT)

I like it. If there is an intro section for FF2, maybe this could be matched to it.Bobbie mac 13:18, 14 June 2006 (PDT)
Haha - we definitely have to keep the "spoiling the broth so you don't have to" tagline. - NightThree 16:55, 14 June 2006 (PDT)

Hawaiian fire

"ze wears a hawaiian shirt since it is Hawaiian Shirt Friday." - I think it would be hilarious if Ze could pull this off:

He wears a hawaiian shirt for the first half minute or so, then at random he performs a seated power move that changes his hawaiian shirt to a normal shirt, and transports a burning hawaiian shirt in the background of where he is sitting. It could remain there seen later as charred remains. 68.6.101.96 15:53, 13 June 2006 (PDT)

Fabuloso Friday is like... extremely confusing.

So, is there a page just for everyone to upload random 15 second bits too? It seems right now that, to send up a mini-script, first you would have to put the "idea" behind your random 15 second bit onto the ideas page, then link to a seperate page created just for your idea. That sucks.

Well, that was made like for last weeks format. I'm going to simplify this to next week format by trying to keep some organization for people who like that, but also having a very simple "just upload your 15 sec segment" on the main page. If I mess something up, here is backup of the state before I charged at it. --Gelbi 07:14, 15 June 2006 (PDT)

Anyway, so I think we need to support the following use-cases:

  • Somebody wants to upload a 15 sec segment that is almost complete and would prefer people only commented. So only the author modifies the content.
  • Someone has a great idea, but needs help in formulating the segment and creating artwork for it. So people who like the idea are welcome to edit it!

Anything else?

I think the first page should mainly collect candidates that are nearly complete. So people do not edit heavily on the main page, but move their stuff there from the brainstorming, once it's nearly done. This means almost all current snippets need to be moved, which is not a good idea...

  • I agree with the notion that the 'author modifies the content'. Should they wish to, they could 'open' their idea for modification? Also, commenting/suggestions/critique should be allowed for each segment. CeruleanNinja 07:54, 15 June 2006 (PDT)
  • Yes, yes, that is a good idea... That way, we can keep it all on the main page (that's good because I think auxilliary pages get less exposure) and the section author indicates the status of the section. However, we should make each suggestion a separate section to avoid too many edit conflicts. --Gelbi 08:00, 15 June 2006 (PDT)
Cool, I'll take the liberty of plonking those in. You guys can unmodify the thing, should you disagree? CeruleanNinja 08:05, 15 June 2006 (PDT)
Yes, I think you are moving in the right direction... I also wanted the named contributions!! I will look at it when you are done... --Gelbi 08:19, 15 June 2006 (PDT)
  • Yeah, this looks like a good idea. I did the one about internet neutrality which is pretty important right now, but I just can't write as witty as someone like Ze. I'm more an idea guy. It'd be great if someone went with that important notion and made it better. --ThinkBig
