- Notation corrected.
e6
- Opens lines for bishop, further develops pawn structure, helps protect our pawn at d5, and prepares to strike at his wide-open queenside. [Queens Gambit Declined].Brigade 13:44, 26 June 2006 (PDT)
- I vote for e6. Lael 14:03, 26 June 2006 (PDT)
- I vote for e6, too Gypsyssister ;although I'm suggesting an alternative below...Oh, hell; it's the slave's defense, and no, I haven't the brain to gigure out where to add this suggestion...
... Qd8-d1
Per the original d7-d5 discussion I believe the Sportinski Kozimov Hard Charging Opener Blitzkrieg is our best approach. It is a particular favourite in my homeland of Elbonia. medwardstalk
- Can't use it yet .. it loses to Ke1. Brigade 13:59, 26 June 2006 (PDT)
c6
- Queens Bishop unblocked, balanced pawn structure, and prevents the pin, helps protect our pawn at d5.. [Slav_Defense].Anon 14:452, 26 June 2006 (PDT)
Current Position
- Our Current Position is the [Queens Game]. Our Pawn at d5 is being threatened by the pawn at c4. There are 26 places that black can move using one of 13 pieces. The text in opening theory in chess only lists 6 moves as preferable. Here is a fun [chess opening explorer]. According to it the best two moves are e6 (Queens Gambit Declined with the Slav defense) which wins 40% of the time, and c6 (Standard Queens Gambit Declined) which wins 37.1% of the time. There exist other moves with false apparent higher values, but they have much fewer games generating the statistic.
