Certainly, deciding to let the world know that you don't mind if your creative output is shared (on prescribed terms) is a generally good idea for a couple of reasons, including that sharing is usually a good thing, and that the public pronouncement of licensing terms reduces transaction costs for content re-users. However, once you go CC, you can't go back: the licenses are both - legally and practically speaking - irrevocable. As people fail to properly understand the finer points of copyright law, I think we will more and more see people who might wish that they had sought better advice before irretrievably relinquishing rights via CC licenses.
