mother’s day

May 7th, 2010

came with this note:

I invited my mom over to take her to pre-Mother’s Day lunch and get a photo of her in my studio. (photo shoot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/halcyon/sets/72157623883404689/ )

I had recently scanned in the oldest pic I have of us (I was just days old) and thought it would be fun to do a Young me-Now Me with her if she was game.
We did it with a remote in my studio and it was a BLAST. She held her pose as I was scouring the house for something that resembled my baby blanket. We laughed so much I ruined several takes by smiling. And she came very close to ruining several by crying.

It was a beautiful experience.

This is my favorite! As a mother of a son, I entirely understand why his mother could not stop crying. Listen, all you adult children out there: It doesn’t matter how big you get or how serious you become, you are always and forever OUR BABIES.

  5. This is my favorite, too. Such a bundle of joy, you turned out to be! You and your mama should be in the history books! Thank you for sharing this. I am jealous of your mama, and wish you both many years of laughter and love.
