valentines day

it occurs to me:

flowers are the only things you can kill, wrap up in paper and give to someone without it being creepy.

for example: here's some dead puppies. they're red. irish setters. red means i love you.

I feel that way about diamonds: nothing says "I love you" like some guy who buys a 5c ring that was unearthed by underpaid diamond miners who literally put their lives on the line
because some spoiled neurotic bitch demands some bling.

Now that's not true. I wouldn't find a nice piece of beef tenderloin, wrapped in butchers paper and presented to me with love, creepy at all. I'd find it quite lovely.
