Proprietary, eh? I thought Ma Bell had been broken up by Sherman Anti-Trust laws. Regardless, I'm switching over to VoIP. I trust the hackers more than the conglomorations, and with everyone and their mother getting in on the ground floor of a new technology, it's unlikely that any specific companies will be propositioned by Homeland Security Secret Police.
Random Trivia -> I live within walking distance of Tom Ridge's House (erm... gated community mansion). He sucked as a senator, and the rainbow o' terrorism isn't much better.
