Incredible.

Wow. Thats what freedom probably feels like.
Or how spiderman feels.
Either way.

Finding this clip along with a link to Doug TenNapel's site makes me think we're finding the same things on the internet. My husband and I were hypnotized by this video a few months ago. This guy must have had some serious gymnastics training. And he's got no fear!

It's an awesome video ,but it's from Latvia not from Russia. The guys who are doing all the jumping are russians.

Connecticut. New Haven Arts & Ideas: Sunday June 11th on the green FREE if anyone wants to see this in person. 2 shows.

That's got to feel like when you're dreaming and you can just throw your hands out and move and fly...like freedom. It must be amazing to be able to move like that.

Wow - it's like the stuff from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon... I half expected those guys to start leaping around in the trees! Very cool.

I saw a shorter version of this clip a while ago, and I must say, of all the parkour videos I have seen, these guys have by far the best locations! Time for a trip to Latvia I suppose, I daresay there's something of a redeeming quality in being war-torn and economically crippled. Parkour for the people!

My cat was fascinated with this video.

To Redruin: Latvia isn't war-torn (last war was WW2) ,but the economy is very much crippled, but it's getting better every day. The worst thing here is old corrupt assholes in goverment, they do the most damage. Most buildings you see in the video were started just before fall of the USSR so they were never finished. And I recommend to visit Latvia ,it's an beautiful country. :)

They're like monkeys. That's insane. I wish I could that, but sadly, no courage.

Posted by: Rachel at June 17, 2006 7:29 PM

You should try that, Ze, maybe you'll be really good at it :P

Posted by: Annette at June 18, 2006 6:32 PM

I wish I could do that.

That video was very cool, and I also really liked the music in it. I recognized one of the songs but not most of them. I don't know what is so appealing about hip hop in other languages, but I love it.

http://imdb.com/title/tt0414852/

District B13, a french action movie following an ex-con and a cop trying to save Paris in the future. All of the stunts are wire-free 100% parkour. Or at least most of them are. It's a lot of fun (albeit short) and it's nice to see some parkour make it in the cinema.

I've seen better parkour, and I've seen editing that is a lot less choppy (which enables you to enjoy it more) but the movie is still a ton of fun!

It reminds me of Vigilantes.. Like Robin.

after watching that one awhile back, my son decided to give it at try...

ahh it's ok, but no consiquence from what I saw. I have some local Salt Lake free climbing that is way better. It is funny too if you listen in...The guy at REI is just way out of his league.

www.gravnetic.com > flash site > 12th down in the list (Climbing in Big Cottonwood)

Climbing in a really cool way with huge consiquences if you fall, ahhh you die!

Well, the guys in the video are good, but they aren't doing parkour, just free running (there is a difference). Parkour was invented by Raymond Belle, father of David Belle who is probably the most famous parkour-doer/runner/whatever right now, anyway Raymond was in Vietnam and used these kinds of techniques to get from A to B the fastest possible way, either chasing someone or escaping someone... These russian guys tend to be more about the show, than the actual determinational spirit of le parkour.

Posted by: Clemen at July 12, 2006 7:43 PM

the idea of parkour has evolved with the sport... so this would be considered parkour. to Ecila, these people usually dont have any gymnastic training at all. most traceurs dont.

Posted by: josie at July 13, 2006 9:37 PM

well, yeah the guys are russians.. (probably, you can see by the clothes :D) bet the place were they are doing it is Latvia.. so.. do some research..
Yeah, but its pretty cool..
