wow that's a goldmine! I love stop motion and Reiniger's (only one "g") prince achmed is simply incredible.

You seem to have an interest in the meshing of what Americans consider juvenile entertainment and serious themes. Have you ever read 'The Secret Life of Puppets' by Victoria Nelson?
You also seem to like puppets. This book won't get you far in that respect, but I also find puppets equally fascinating and creepy.
It has a free demo version, and the full version is only like $40.
I might try my hand at a animation.

I couldn't get the darkstrider page to work so i did a search on the first guy (Starewitch). I didnt find the "Le Lion" animation, but I found two others by him (on this site his name is spelled "Starewicz"). aparently clay wasn't as abundant when these were made, but fortunately bugs had been invented by then. I'll keep looking for a complete version of "Le Lion."
