YuYuuuuuu!
Just what i've been waiting for!
Sports Racer, Racing Sports!!

Posted by: CP at April 4, 2007 11:50 AM

This is awesome, and I'll buy it as an album, but wow, $0.99 for 24 seconds of King of the Comments.

Posted by: wosepedals at April 4, 2007 11:54 AM

Mwahaha, I shall stick these on my wife's computer and make her shuffle mode a lot more interesting! Thank you!

Posted by: MrAndrews at April 4, 2007 12:08 PM

Hey Ze, awesome! but what about one of my favorite tunes, Invisible Baby???

Posted by: dhl at April 4, 2007 12:45 PM

Will this be available as a physical CD sometime? I'd much prefer to buy non-DRM-encumbered versions of this stuff. Can your "Meaningless Products" store handle this?

Haaa! Love it ~
Listening, I got one of those rare feelings,
like when you're walking down the street and catch a whiff of something familiar&endearing, but you can't place it immediately...

Later, you realize, it's that scent of stale cigarettes&rose water that always encompassed the political rants around kitchen table with a very dear, long gone grandmother...
Lovely

I woke up singing "Hindsight" this morning... Your tunes are very catchy!

Yay! for all the songs on ITunes!

Posted by: girlie_sportsracer at April 4, 2007 2:08 PM

What happened Ze, running out of candy ?

Posted by: x at April 4, 2007 3:27 PM

Hot damn! I wake up every day humming "Hindsight".

Posted by: Beave at April 4, 2007 3:31 PM

I would also like to see this outside of iTunes. I have more than enough A/V software on my PC already. How about burning some discs, or selling a ZIP file, or something?

Posted by: Luke M at April 4, 2007 4:24 PM

Luke, with all that A/V software you could download the shows individually and rip the audio yourself. :) Save your $9.99.

Posted by: hipster who is somewhat affable normally at April 4, 2007 4:29 PM

I'm glad you're making them available, but I agree with Matthew McVickar: could we get a non-DRM version of those songs at some point? Thanks for the consideration!

Posted by: Sarah at April 4, 2007 5:13 PM

Sweet. Thanks, Ze.

Yeah, you could rip the audio from the Shows, but a lot of us asked for this and were willing to pay. I'm all for supporting the projects and it sounds like Ze took the time to re-record at least some of not all of these.

Posted by: Ben at April 4, 2007 5:14 PM

Thanks Ze. I just purchased the whole album and it has made my week. The Show ending songs is so wonderful and sad at the same time. Thank you again

Posted by: knp1968 at April 4, 2007 6:04 PM

I will support the duckies by buying your cd. I really miss the show by the way :(.

Posted by: amylynnpsyd at April 4, 2007 7:20 PM

Thanks, Ze - just got the album! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who wakes up with "Hindsight is 20/20" playing in my head! :) (it's also the default ringtone on my cell phone!)

Posted by: Goocher at April 4, 2007 7:38 PM

I'm so glad to see these!!! My dear friend started quoting "Hindsight" at me yesterday during lunch, then asked me to pretend to speak French. Awesome!

Posted by: Kimberlyesque at April 4, 2007 8:17 PM

did you rub your baby with invisible lotion? did you hide the song with an invisible potion?

Posted by: buckyball at April 5, 2007 4:29 AM

Yes, this is fantastic!

But as many others I also have to beg you to also sell them without DRM-infection! I will never buy DRMd music no matter how great it is! How about selling it on Amie Street (http://amiestreet.com/)? That would be the most awesome thing, ever!

Please! I need to buy those songs, but never with DRM, and not from iTunes since I'm using Linux, and my DAP (mp3-player) doesn't support AAC.

Posted by: forteller at April 5, 2007 7:28 AM

I just bought the whole 'album". If you could now put all your videos on there I would feel completely happy again.

Posted by: Mike Untswells at April 5, 2007 12:32 PM

I second the Amie Street suggestion - I buy more music from Amie Street than iTunes.

Posted by: daftgretel at April 5, 2007 3:09 PM

Ze,

I see you are going back to the well for sip of water. Good for you. But the well is sure to dry up unless you make an effort to soothe your minions, and rekindle the Ze Frank fans by creating something new.

I would love to buy the album but I won't buy music with DRM. I'd love to pay you (even a little more) for the mp3 downloads or a plain old audio disc.

And I think the commenters chastising you for "not making new content" or trying to monetize your back catalog are assholes. Please ignore them.

Posted by: DataVortex at April 5, 2007 6:07 PM

Hard charger alert!

I don't speak for Ze but sheesh, some of you obviously took the "thinking so you don't have to" thing a bit too literally.

The songs were put on iTunes in response to viewer requests. The projected iTunes revenue is unlikely to cover even the cost of preparing the material for iTunes (mixing, mastering, artwork). Like everything this past year, this is not a get-rich endeavor.

There is not enough interest in this material to justify setting up additional online distribution channels. Nor are there enough duckies out there to justify printing CDs, Edison Wax Cylinders, 8 track tapes, or gluten-free soy wafers.

The per-song pricing is an Apple issue. As is the DRM.

If you don't like paying 99 cents for a 24 second song might I suggest you spend $2.99 for the ringtone instead?

It's 21 songs for $9.99 on iTunes. That's the deal.

And you can click one button and burn your own DRM-free CD should you care.

Posted by: supportandcomfort at April 5, 2007 7:06 PM

Thank you Ze!!! I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw this.

Thank you so much!

Posted by: SgtCrispy at April 5, 2007 7:12 PM

S&C where have you been ? We miss you and want you to know you are great.

Posted by: Supportandcomfort Rules at April 5, 2007 7:18 PM

Hell yes! Now I just need to find ten dollars.

Although the lack of one of my favorites (invisible baby) is disappointing...

Posted by: Alex at April 6, 2007 2:31 AM

What about all the little duckies and are there going tto be music videos as well???

Posted by: chelseakinns at April 6, 2007 4:07 AM

Awww come on! Please give us Linux users a little love too!!

Posted by: groovewaffle at April 6, 2007 7:38 AM

I'm not trying to get around paying at all, I just don't want to install iTunes on my computer. Is there a way to buy music from iTunes without using their software? That's all I'm askin'.

Posted by: Luke M at April 6, 2007 10:45 AM

"And you can click one button and burn your own DRM-free CD should you care." -- S&C

If say, you're on an operating system that runs iTunes....

s&c replies: I'm sure you and Luke can find someone who has a Mac or Windows machine you can borrow for five minutes to perform the task. While you're burning the CD, maybe you can even talk them into installing the latest Ubuntu. Or, better yet, going outside and playing with a ball in the sun.

Posted by: DataVortex at April 6, 2007 3:02 PM

Yay! And there was much rejoicing.

Posted by: LainyBug at April 6, 2007 8:44 PM

Also - can we add the Jonathan Coulton covers?

Posted by: LainyBug at April 6, 2007 8:59 PM

Ze, you got me Coulton, and I'll love you forever for that, but I'll love you even MORE if you'd put Love Letter to Condi up on iTunes. That's the song I sing all day.

And if y'all haven't found it on the website, sportsracers, go look.

Posted by: typemonkey at April 6, 2007 9:14 PM

You are too awesome. My cable payment might be late this month, but at least I've got some tunes to make me not care. :)

Posted by: Miss Jecka at April 6, 2007 9:20 PM

Oh hey! I forgot that you can burn it to a cd! Thanks supportandcomfort! And thank you Ze!

Posted by: Karan at April 7, 2007 1:46 PM

Oh my goodness! I am SO excited. :D YAY!

Posted by: Acrylicana at April 7, 2007 4:37 PM

I'm still hoping for a real physical CD to be released. That would be truly awesome. Even more because I'm not doing iTunes out of principles. X:

Llevo todo el día viendo tu página y me gusta mucho.

Thanks Ze! What a great gift to us all.

Posted by: mhwilbur at April 9, 2007 8:40 PM

Just downloaded the album!! Totally made my day!! It was a great year for THE SHOW, wasn't it! *smile*

Posted by: AdrianM1 at April 11, 2007 5:11 AM

Thank you Ze. Now I can give you some candy even though I discovered the show after it finished.

Posted by: Sarah at April 11, 2007 5:53 PM

support and comfort = ze. Right?

[s&c responds: no]

Posted by: nick at April 12, 2007 2:25 PM

I already bought the songs because the ones I'd ripped from the show were really horrible quality.

To those who hate DRM: I do too! The awesome thing is that you can take if off! Just burn it to a CD and then rerip it. Sure, it's kind of a pain (and no where near as easy as it should be) but it's worth it.

To Ze: Is there any chance at all that you can release the GarageBand files for some of these songs? That's be really sweet. Hopefully read this!

Later

Matt
