biology class must be more fun now

The Inner Life of the Cell - Full Version :: posted a partial of this a while back :: hare's the full version :: love those little motor protein dudes that walk along the microtubules. wouldn't want that job though.

That was fascinating! My favorite bit is when the spectrin tetramers beneath the lipid bilayer are described and animated. Amazing micro worlds :)

I'm kind of torn on the benefit of some instructional animations. Is it better to leave the uncertain as an abstraction or to present a best guess picture, with liberal use of artistic license? They can be potential for misinformation when students take the depictions as fact, where the mechanisms are still unknown.

It's great visual - that the motor protein plods along anthropomorphically! It's entertaining. In reality, I think researchers theorize that there is a limp in the walk. The truth may be even more interesting!

leukocyte extravization - i think they mean extravaganza! biology 2007 is definitely more fun than biology 1985.

Which would you rather watch? Cell biology or The Prisoner? It's a toss up for me now.
