Surely this could be preserved. It would take some doing, but can be done.

Probably not enough money around to do it. As, I used to say when people had computer problems and asked if I could find out "why it did that": "Sure, If I were the Defense Department".

I rather love that you're reading a story from The Messenger in Fort Dodge, IA. I'm from Iowa, and feel like a lot of people write it off as hicktown, USA, and so I like that you posted this.

P.S. I'm not saying Iowa is in any way some sort of secret metropolitan area. I just enjoyed seeing someone from New York noting something about Iowa without saying "hey, look at all the hicks in hicktown." It's a compliment in a way, to see someone in New York even observing the goings on of this largely unconsidered midwestern state. Anyway, thanks.

Ze, I wonder if you didn't miss the bigger story in there...

This woman works in a fabric store, and she managed to buy a commercial building in the center of her town!

OK, sure, it's Iowa, but still... she is able to buy a commercial building, renovate it, and completely change business plans in mid-stream! (From a gym to a fabric store/coffee shop.)

I think she should cut the exterior walls into sections, spin them around so the inside is outside, put the siding on, and then preserve the posters inside.

Heck, that would be a draw for tourists! Imagine all the old carnies, sitting in a remote Iowa cafe, tears welling up in their eyes as they examine the posters and sip their latte's...

Kinda chokes ya up, don't it? :-D
