In 1962 (the year of my birth), Nina Simone performed "Eretz Zavat Chalav," an old Israeli folksong that every Jewish kid who ever went to Hebrew school knows. I wish I could find out the story behind this terrific performance!
Thanks for this, Ze. A wonderful antidote to a crappy morning. The beauty and the pain that was Nina Simone is captured here brilliantly. For a heartbreaking little storylet on an encounter with Nina Simone check out Sam Shepard's Motel Chronicles and Hawk Moon, if you don't already know it.

Nice Sam Shepard suggestion!
(spare yourself by skipping her autobiography)

That made my day. Nina's one of my favorite vocalists. Thanks!

Thanks for that one Ze - I think I needed that and didn't even know it till I finished watching.
I am glad to hear that she has her boobies and her liver.
Awesome.

Probably seen it before, but Aardman + Nina = really cool.

I've been a fan of Simone ever since her music was featured in that cheesy remake No Way Out (with Bridget Fonda). Awesome performance. :)

I lack boobies. Does that mean I'm living less of a life?
